The 1864 Election had went by as many had previously suspected it would, in a Lincoln landslide, however, many in the Party outright refused to nominate Andrew Johnson for Vice President, but they also knew full well that Lincoln wasn't too keen on renominating Hannibal Hamlin for the slot. So instead, the Republican Party went with the interesting choice of selecting Massachusetts Senator and Rabidly Radical Charles Sumner. Of course, as expected, the United States had won its civil war against the Civil War with relative ease following the fall of Richmond to General Grant, but shortly after the end of the war, President Lincoln was suddenly and violently assassinated by a gunshot wound to the head by actor and confederate sympathizer, who took the opportunity to stab General Grant, who was attending the play with the President, as well before fleeing. Both men would die early the next morning and Vice President Sumner, who had barely escaped an attempt to kill him on the same night by one of Booth's co-conspirators thanks to a creaky piece of floor waking him up in the middle of the night, was inaugurated as America's 17th President. With the sympathy of the Nation on his side and many angered at the South for the death of Lincoln and hundreds of thousands of men in what could've been an avoidable conflict, Charles Sumner and many of his Radical Republican Allies moved to have their ideas pushed, such as forty acres and a mule and state suicide as well as the proper arming, military training, and education of freed slaves and heavy disenfranchisement of ex-confederate officers and former slaveowners, with some ex-confederates being exiled, while others, like Robert E. Lee, is still pending trial that could lead to his sentencing of Death by Hanging. While the last 4 years has truly seen a massive change thanks to the President, it seems that, with the 1866 House Elections giving the Democrats enough seats to come near a majority, all if Sumner's policies could come crashing down. Will he be re-elected as President or will the Convention replace him? Who will be the Republican selection for Vice President? And who will the Democrats choose to combat the Republican ticket in the fall? It is time for you to decide!

This game will follow the same rules laid out by the 2012 game that flopped, though, seeing as there'll be no primaries, there'll be six months before a Convention that a Players plays through, in those months, the candidate campaigns on the issues of the day, such as Sumner's policies since becoming President. Every two months will be an informal debate between the Party's Presidential Candidates and there'll be three of the them, and these debates can influence how the convention works out. Your main goal here, however, is to gain support of the Delegates. With the South a non-entity thanks to State Suicide being Passed (https://www.encyclopedia.com/politics/encyclopedias-almanacs-transcripts-and-maps/state-suicide-theory), much of the Political Power of the US will be placed in NY, OH, PA, IL, MA, and IN, though also getting support from the rest of Midwest can help you as well.
