For our next tour, once the '50 states in 50 days' concludes, how about we have a tour where we discuss all 50 Governors in a 50 day period?

Is it a good idea?  I'd like to get the public's feedback on this.

it would be a great way to learn more.  I like it, although since I don't know much beyond Granholm, Taft, and Schwartzenegger, I wouldn't be able to contribute much.

At this point, I'm the lone no vote. The tour on the trends board crowded out all other threads. Few posts were made, and some dropped back two or three pages. I fear that the same thing will happen to this board if a state-by-state tour of governors is started.

There are significant races for governor in a number of states right now, and many others that are not significant at this time. Two of those races occur in just over 5 weeks. Others states have major primary races shaping up in the next couple of months. Also, remember that this board is also for other non-Congressional races like NYC mayor.

I'd like to see the threads represent current points of discussion in the states, not an arbitrary sequence that pushes real news to back pages. I hope others will consider this view as well.

The creation of a child board would eliminate this problem.  Even so I don't really see it as a problem...the NJ and VA threads will still get alot of discussion and won't be backed down to the bottom of pages, but rather just surrounded more than anything.

I like it.  I have a question though -in what order will you be going? Alphabetically by state, or alphabetically by the governor's name?

I will go in backwards alphabetical order, unless someone objects.  If we went by gov's name it would be too confusing.

It will start in about a week, when the 50 states in 50 days is done.

good idea.  i would stay states since everyone knows the order and we get confused on the governors list.  i think NJ and VA will occur after the governor electoins there

im not a fan of having lots of child boards, but I guess if you would add the state analyses in there too, it might not be that bad.

Hah, 3113 counties in 3113 days.  It would take 8 1/2 years to complete.

Too bad. This seems like clutter since the governors of interest are getting plenty of coverage already. No fewer than nine governors have had posts on threads on this board in the last three days. Why wait nine days to do what we already cover in three?

Do you plan to just talk about the governors, or will the threads generally stick to the board subject of gubernatorial elections? If so, is the emphasis on past or upcoming elections?
