Spitzer should get a minimum of 60%-65% in the governor's race.

Reverse that if Giuliani jumps in.  Its not totally out of the question either.  He could decide after the 1st of the year, still win the primary, and be the heavy favorite in the general election.  He's probably too mesmerized by his 2008 primary poll #'s to jump in the race though.

Phew ! Understandably, New Yorkers like Giuliani - but Governor Spitzer has a nice ring to it Smiley

Friggin Giuliani!

What is he doing running for President?  He has no chance in the primaries, but he could be Governor of NY!

Wow, that's quite an improvement for Weld, he had 16% before.
Hey, not bad, the guy who spent the most money ever on a non Presidential race, getting 18% is now polling at a whooping 32% in that race.
Who are Daniels and Balboni?
As for Rudy, Spitzer would beat him, it'd just require a lot of money, and tying him to Bush, and pointing out how he hates the troops since he blamed the missing HMX explosives on the troops.

Daniels is the Secretary of State for NY, Balboni is a State Senator from Long Island

I think that if Weld gets the nomination, people will grow to like him and he'll be able to keep Spitzer under 60%.  Or maybe not, but it'd be something to watch.

It should be noted that New York Secretary of State is not an elected position. I didn't realize they even had one.
