2. It's completely cynical for a show to appeal to people just because it aligns with their political views. I watched King of the Hill and South Park and those weren't particularly friendly to liberals. So this mentality that a show can only appeal to Trump voters if the character is also a Trump supporter, is just a ludicrous mentality. I don't know if it speaks worse about the show's potential viewers or about the television industry.

Huh? King of the Hill was never a particularly political show, but when it was it was usually skewering obnoxious conservatives, like fundamentalist Christians or militia-types like Dale. True Hank was portrayed as a generally conservative guy but he was more of a general "cultural conservative" than some firebrand movement conservative and I don't recall any harsh attacks on liberals on the show.

We just had 12 pages of blue avatars applauding the NFL for curb stomping employees free speech rights, now the same blue avatars all have a problem with ABC doing the same. hmm.

They have the right to do so, nobody is doubting. Roseanne was deservedly fired. Why aren't others held to her standard?

If the people calling the shots at this private company want to hold her to a different standard, that's their right to. She should go find another network.

And Fox would be wise to gobble up Season 2 as soon as possible for that reason. Her core audience would still watch.

Unfortunately, I don't think Goodman will work with her again. Too toxic for him, and understandably so. RIP Rosie, we hardly knew ye!

Any actor who agrees to work with her should really be ashamed of themselves.  It isn't even the fact that she insulted someone.  She called them a monkey.  That is the racist language of the 1950s.

Why should John Goodman be ashamed when the season had already been completed by the time she made the comment? How the hell is he guilty of anything?

I don't care what happens to Roseanne Barr one way or the other.  I don't watch sitcoms.  And she's a nut job, no matter what side of the spectrum she's coming from.
