I think it's entirely impossible to know, given that everyone here is operating with the knowledge of what happened afterwards and with patriotism towards the country that was created.  When the revolution began, there was no knowledge with regards to what the outcome would be or anything like that; there wasn't even any separate country to be patriotic towards.

It would be interesting to analyze what might have happened had the revolution not occurred or had the revolution failed.  Canada got its independence later with the voluntary approval of Britain, so I would imagine that something like that may have occurred.  Or, perhaps not losing any of its colonies beforehand would make Britain want to keep itself intact.  History certainly would have been radically different, either way, however.

australia would quite likely have been colonised by the french or dutch...eek!

australia was founded as a penal colony because the brits were too scared to keep sending them to Canada in case there was another US-style revolution. That said, more convicts were sent to north america then Australia.

Loyalist here.  Though I would have switched at the opportune moment.

Certainly Britain is more appealing politically today than the U.S., for whatever that is worth.

It was just the Kingdom of Great Britain back then.

More likely the Kingdom of England.
Imay be wrong, but I think at the time Scotland was still in personal union?

The traitors, of course, except they were no such thing - their reasons for declaring independence were documented and reasonable.

No. Dakota Red's right.
United Kingdom of Great Britain (ie, Scotland and England) was 170...7 IIRC, might be wrong on last number. United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland was 1801.

I'd be a traitor, though it's not especially high on the list of wars I'd have risked my life to win.

You wouldn't have risked your life to fight the war that eventually granted us our independence? lol

Nope. We weren't fighting pure evil in that war. Also, in retrospect, we can see all the good that us experimenting with democracy caused, but at that time, our lives under British rule were still prosperous, and imagining myself back then, I'd certainly want to have a say and be independent, but my life wouldn't be greatly improved by the elimination of the British from America, so there are other wars I'd rather give my life for.
