AKP-MHP will also certainly have an absolute majority with these numbers. Perfect.
This, but without even a trace of sarcasm.

Didn't know you Stan for the far right Tim.
The MHP is a mere appendage of AKP for the time being. I don't care about the MHP. And the AKP ain't far right.
I don't want to spam the thread too much with political discussion instead of looking at the results, but do you not find it a bit disturbing that Erdogan is using literal Grey Wolf fascists to bolster his support? That's odious stuff.
People like Tim are why I voted PVV and have zero regrets

Looks like AKP-MHD alliance saved both AKP and Erdogan (assuming he makes it past 50%.)  Another battle well played by Erdogan.  Hats off to him.

Istanbul over 70% in and  Erdogan still above 50%.  This is pretty surprising ...
Ankara?

He's using the MHP apparatus to full advantage in order to ensure victory, regardless of consequences? It's disconterting. But again, with a bad/unfit opposition and his record of economic success, it's something that isn't disqualifying. This all goes back to the fact that finding a flawless politician in Turkey is like trying to find a glacier in Iowa.

Ankara will have more pro-Erdogan lean than Istanbul.

With 62.4% of the vote counted it is Erdogan at 55.9%

With 48.5% of the vote counted it is
AKP-MHP    58.0%
CHP-IYI-SP 31.1%
HDP            9.4%

HDP inching toward 10%
Even by 2017 referendum counting patterns it seems   Erdogan is set to finish around 51%.

Ince just tweeted that the Anadolu News Agency (which is responsible for all reporting sites for the media) deliberately manipulates the reporting of the results, by reporting primarily pro-Erdogan areas and keeping CHP areas up for late.

Mostly to discourage CHP election commission members to leave the precincts. Ince calls on all commission members to remain in the polling places, so that the Erdogan-crowd can't manipulate later on.

Makes sense, all the opposition areas are really behind in their counts. If so, then there may be votes out there beyond the ordinary AKP trendline.

Tayyip's not going to make it above 50%. The HDP will also probably end up above the 10% benchmark.

It would appear that something like this is happening, The Guardian is reporting the independent news sources have Erdogan's numbers lower the the official site.

The "official" Anadolu Agency results are taken directly from the AKP's provincial headquarters.

To think that Turkey was once a strong candidate to be part of the EU.... Thank God it's not anymore.

Just as I expected: the government total is going to show Akşener losing more support than the polls suggested while Ince remains about the same.

What's odd (... and contradicts Ince's tweet) ist that Istanbul province is already 85% counted and Erdogan is still at 53% and Ince 18 points behind.

If there are that many Ince-areas out, why isn't it showing up in Istanbul ?

I mean, even if everything is counted there, Ince cannot make up a 18 point deficit.

Excellent graph highlighting Anadolu Agency's manipulation in reporting election results.

Blue = April 2017 Referendum "yes" votes

Orange = November 2015 AKP votes

Gray = June 2015 AKP votes

Looking at this thread it's pretty obvious that Tim Turner has no idea what he's talking about when it comes to Turkish politics. Anyways going back to the results, I don't think Erdoğan will make it above 50% as there's quite a bit of discrepancy between the quote on quote official results and what others are reporting this is just an AKP tactic to scare off hdb and other opposition parties and observers out.

To put the count in perspective:

AKP areas:

Kastamonu - 92%
Yozgat - 87.4%
Artvin - 95.6%

Opposition, or area Opposition should do decent:
Izmir - 48%
Van - 60.9%
Mersin - 62.7%
Ankara - 69.1%

The BBC has a graphic, but because the independents have a lower %  count and are collecting from different areas, they both could be correct. Especially if the opposition areas are being purposefully delayed.

It's beyond obvious that they're trying to scare off opposition ballot box watchers.
