New Public Policy Institute of California poll for April finds Gavin Newsom still leading John Cox.

24% Undecided among Democrats & Republicans, 19% among Independents. Could be a squeaker for second among Allen/Cox/Villarigosa.


Also, compared to last month's PPIC poll:

Newsom:  -2
Cox:  +1 (Noticeably, +8 among Indys)
Villariagosa:  +1
Allen:  No movement
Chiang:  +1
Eastin:  +1
Someone else: No movement
Don't know:  -2

Cox's momentum with Independent voters is impressive. Also I though Chiang would be polling higher.

I would be pretty amused if Villariagosa, but kinda sad since Cox would give Republicans a reason to turn out in November, even if its a small one.
