In the presidential election of 1800, the electoral vote was tied between Thomas Jefferson and running mate Aaron Burr (who used a loophole in the electoral process to accomplish this, later corrected by the Twelfth Amendment).  The election was thrown into the House of Representatives.  Alexander Hamilton cast the deciding vote to Jefferson, citing him as the lesser of two evils, and Jefferson became president.  What would the country have been like if Hamilton had voted for Burr?  Hamilton might have lived longer for one thing.  What about the Louisiana Purchase and the War of 1812?  Please post your thoughts.

Well, as I have usualy said, we would have most likely been at war with Britian by 1810, and an invasion of Canada would have been attempted once again by the Americans.

Would Burr have tried to ally with Napoleon in France, I do't know for sure, but he was an admierer of the French Emperor.

The U.S. would be as much of a footnote in history as Biafra.
