Politicians really shouldn't discuss food. It always ends up being quite awkward.

Very, very disappointed in Bernie for not endorsing Cynthia. Cuomo is gutter trash.

I had never heard of this. It's sort of incredible how much Democrats got panned in 2004 for dumb, meaningless sh**t that didn't matter (see also: Dean scream)

That had virtually no impact on the election. Dean was already toast when that happened.

Which, if any, counties is Nixon expected win? Or will Cuomo just sweep the entire state?

Nixon will likely win most of the upstate counties, minus the ones with large population centers, while Cuomo wins everything else. This assumes that Nixon only gets 25%, if she gets more, she could win some population centers in NY, and a couple boroughs in the city.

If Nixon wins any counties, she'll win New York County (Manhattan) and a few counties in the Hudson Valley like Ulster, Columbia, Saratoga and/or Schoharie (but she will undoubtedly be weaker in that area than Teachout was). I think she probably wins Tompkins as well.

Cuomo should most likely sweep everywhere else, though I wouldn't be shocked by a random rural county somewhere like the North Country voting for Nixon, either, and she could win some of the other upstate Teachout >60% counties.

Edit: For reference, the 2014 map: http://alloveralbany.com/archive/2014/09/10/clickable-county-by-county-results-for-the-cuomo-t. Nixon should do much worse than Teachout upstate but noticeably better in NYC (at least in Manhattan and Brooklyn, though she'll be far from winning in Brooklyn).

I dont think Nixon is carrying any of NYC.

The only NYC borough she has a chance to win is Manhattan but i doubt she carries any. In Upstate Tompkins is a given and probably Albany, Ulster and Saratoga.  She will also win some sparsely populated rural counties but they dont cast very many votes.

If I were you, I would go try a good multigrain/wholegrain bagel. Those are one of my favorites. I dunno, they are just soooo good.

Lox or smoked salmon is delicious on a plain bagel with cream cheese.
Agreed. I'm not a fan of capers, but I can see why some people would like them.

It's the cinnamon raisin part that's absolutely throwing me for a loop.

Yes, it's atrocious.

But let's remember that if Nixon were a Republican, all of her fans online would be ordering bagels with lox and capers to own the libs.

I'm sure Nixon will at least carry Tompkins County. Teachout cracked 70% there, and even Hillary's opponent in 2006 cracked 40% there (he lost 84-16 overall.) It's also the only county Obama won against Hillary in 2008, and he won it handily by 18 points.

Is there any reason why Tompkins always votes absurdly different than the rest of the state in D primaries?

Its a certainty she will carry it. I would also expect Albany as well. Teachout got 60 percent there. she also probably carries Saratoga and Ulster.

Its largest city and county seat is Ithaca which is home to Cornell University.

That's pretty much it.  Plus in the general elections third parties do really well there. Green Party candidate Howie Hawkins got 16 percent of the vote in 2014. By far his best in any county.
