This is fascinating to learn about, but it pretty much cements or speeds up Rosenstein's firing. I don't think it was worth it. Trump should be thanking "the failing New York Times" for giving him this excuse.

Trump has never needed evidence or excuses. He hasn't fired Rosenstein, etc becuase he's afraid of the consequences. He will act when desperation, anger, paranoia, etc outweigh the fear.

I hate this story. While it does not surprise me in the slightest, it will be used by the right wing to further the idea that the DOJ and FBI and Mueller are part of a large conspiracy to bring Trump down and will use that to shut down the investigation. When in reality, what we are seeing is lifelong republicans, so desperate about the levels of incompetence and vile character traits witnessed that even they are showing their frustrations fairly openly.
