Is this just the result of name recognition?

Yeah, probably, but I'd think Cordray would have just about as much name recognition (he's been in state politics for a decade). With such a high percent undecided (more than double Cordray's numbers), it's almost impossible to gather much from this poll, other than Cordray's the narrow frontrunner for the time being.

Also, the poll was conducted nearly a month ago.

52% undecided? Yeah they probably won't be breaking for a pro-Trump candidate.

This is from January and it is the same 1984 society poll that showed DeWine with like a 20 point lead over Cordray in the GE

If Kucinich wants to help Ohio Democrats there's one thing he should do: dissapear.

What makes you think he does? He spends most of his time now shilling for Trump on FOX News.

Schiavoni would have won in the original field.

But this poll looks like junk for a couple of reasons. 1: There's no way in Hell Pillich was polling behind O'Neill, 2: it's unlikely DeWine is up that big over Cordray, and 3: Fallon Research is un-rated by 538.

Just because Cordray has been in politics a long time does not mean they have equal name recognition. Kucinich had two presidential campaigns and was Mayor of Cleveland.

While it’s true a plurality of Democratic primary voters live in NEOH, who remembers Kucinich (positively) outside of Cleveland? I know he’s deeply unpopular in Lorain. Cordray’s been on the ballot for more Ohioans, but Kucinich did leave office two years after Cordray.

The establishment in the 2016 Presidential primary: "Gun control is the most important issue"

The establishment in the 2018 OH-Gov primary: "Please vote for the candidate with the A NRA rating over the candidate with the F NRA rating that the mob tried to assassinate."

Hmm, I thought that supporting the candidate that has shamelessly slobbered all over Trump on Fox would be too much even for you. Apparently not.
