I don't understand why it always has to boil down to a establish vs progressives thing if a party org does something like go after a candidate because they think that person is unelectable. Just because they run as a progressive doesn't make them infallible or even a good candidate. Outside of knee-jerk tribalism, I don't see how closing ranks immediately around such candidates is helpful to their larger vision.

DCCC is nothing but a political smear machine that attacks progressives so they can keep their gravy train going. Thankfully this is 2018 not 2016 so this will only motivate people to vote for Laura Moser.

Her own darn words speaking over and over again. The DCCC just put it on a soapbox in hopes of costing her the primary, so we don't fumble a critical pickup opportunity.

As for Ms. Moser, shame on her for making fun of the rich traditions, diversity, and warm welcoming environment and people in there that showed her love, and attempted to teach her praise and the healing and consolation power of a faith community. Absolute disgust. And I may not be Christian or Jewish, but respect and kindness matters.

People have been asking, is there a liberal/Democratic version of Donald Trump?

Moser is probably that person.

Jay Hulings crashing in the betting markets in the TX-23 primary, after eliminating several staff members. Ortiz Jones now leading in the PredictIt market for the first time.

Fletcher and Moser leads in a poll commissioned by the Congressional Leadership Fund. They also lead in the betting markets.

Vice also did a run-through the Texas Dem primaries too, if anybody wants to read it.

Fletcher is probably the best positioned to take down Moser in a runoff.

Far lefties don't care about anything or anyone besides pushing their ultra partisan radical ideologies, and if that means going out full force to try to play the best d**n game of "nominate the candidate most likely to fumble a winnable race" by God, they will f ng do it. A bunch of blunt ninnies.

That's pretty harsh.

Anyway, someone who called black churches "orgies" is... not a candidate you want in a district that has a decent sized black population. Hopefully she doesn't win

Taking the bait of the DCCC? How pathetic and gullible.

Moser own words long before being in politics is DCCC bait? I'm sorry no, the DCCC in hindsight should of never said anything but Moser has a lot of red flags (and ironically is not the biggest progressive in the race)

No matter what you think of Moser, calling her the liberal version of Trump is harsh.

So Moser isn't even the most Progressive Candidate in the race?  And y'all are gonna run a Progressive in the GE in a district like TX-07?  If it's Moser/Fletcher in the Runoff this race is Lean to Likely R imo.

Fletcher is a moderate candidate, she'll do fine in the General Election. She probably fits the leanings of the district the best, from the Republicans and Democrats.

I'll just note out of the six candidates in the race only the two women have been attacked the most (by far) and disqualified (by some posters). I'm not accusing sexism or anything, and in all honesty I'd rather not have to mention it, I don't enjoy bringing it up at all, but just noting this. When these patterns happen over and over in American politics it becomes noticeable. That is all.

Yeah, there's a very common trend of posters on Atlas either intentionally or unintentionally writing off strong female candidates in favour of milquetoast men, that or outright attacking them.

I think some of the Sanders cultists have also attacked Triantaphylis as (surprise, surprise!!!) a neoliberal corporate shill.

Trump is responsible for everything he said, even decades before the presidency, which is the right thing as well, but somehow candidates who agree with you are not. Literally even your own JD allies on the forum are also cringing with the rest of the democrats and hoping that she is not the nominee.

She is the one who said those things, and her alone, and she is responsible for them. The DCCC is just holding her accountable.

The funny thing is at the end of the day they will probably have the same voting record.
