I know that feeling all too well, the best way around it for me is to take lots of screenshots, particularly of the urban areas, so that if it freezes you can fairly easily reproduce it. I find that this strategy serves me well.

I just about finished a Texas map, but it says that I still have 30k unallocated, and for the life of me I cannot find where those unassigned precincts are.

Is there any way that the "find unassigned precinct" option can be modified so it takes me to precincts with population? I've spent close to an hour using the tool, and it keeps taking me to small precincts that don't have anyone living there.

Otherwise, is anyone aware of small populated precincts that are easy to miss on the Texas map?
I found that in other states using Census Data, that I knew the population of each district, so when I transcribed to DRA I could tell when I missed any precincts. Working on a district by district basis, you can also switch the color to a dark black, and turn off precinct lines. Often the tiny precincts are obscured by other precincts.

there's a tool to find unassigned precincts, in the upper right hand tab. it'll hover over it for you, but u need to zoom in to see very small ones.
