Bad optics but the ruling of the presiding officer was exactly correct.  Doesn't matter if it's the state house, a school board meeting, or whatever, her actions were not procedurally proper.

True. There are other venues for exposing that one's pols have sold out to giant corporations -- like letters to the editor.

Democrats in here saying this is justified would also have criticised the civil rights movement for being too ‘disruptive’

People involved in the industries of a state tend to be the ones donating money to politicians in those states.   Weird how that works.

Where are West Virginia's newspapers, and why aren't THEY publishing this list of corporate donors on the Front Page?

In my home county some year go, a local political gadfly made a scene at a School Board meeting.  He was challenging the School Board's use of monies, and the Board chair and the Superintendent used Parliamentary rules to rule him out of order, out of time, etc.  After refusing to accept the answer, this man was taken to jail, and charged with a misdemeanor of DISRUPTING A SCHOOL BOARD FUNCTION.  He was actually placed on Probation, which he violated by speaking at another public meeting.  His probation was revoked, and he served a jail term.

This man was a political prisoner.  Period.  My local school board remains a bastion of unaccountability, fearing only lawsuits.

As for Lissa, the candidate, she's a MASSIVE FF.  I note that she stands with Charlotte Pritt, who was a MASSIVE FF on behalf of West Virginia's coal miners.  This is a case of folks with good manners and clean language screwing over the general public.

Sorry, but comparing this lady's cause of trying to lessen corporate influence over politics to the heroes of the civil rights movement wreaks of trying to legitimize your political views on the subject.  Not even the same neighborhood.

The corporate domination of America didn't come all at once.  It was like boiling the frog; the temperature of the water was slowly increased, one degree at a time, until the frog died.

I think the corporate domination of our politics and our society is, indeed, a real civil rights issue.  The ways in which corporate America dominates so many facets of our lives is utterly stifling.  I'm old enough to remember when this wasn't so, at least not at the level we have today.

She's an attention whore who made her point, and got national press for it (which she knew would happen)......so again, why isn't the lamestream media publishing a list of these politicians and those who bribe them?  Why?

Good point, lets get money out of politics. Make lobbying illegal and have every politician that qualifies get a specific amount to use on the campaign from the government, no donations allowed to anyone/organization!

There's nothing wrong with special interest $$ in politics. It's frankly a more responsible way of doing things than 'grassroots' efforts from uninformed citizens
LOLOLOL Good luck getting 10% of the population to believe that.

Easy, just tell them the NRA is a special interest protecting the second amendment.

This is the main issue you have isn't it: You're just a sh**ty old man angry at a woman getting attention on TV.

Nope.  I agreed with the presiding officer's ruling........she got kicked out and lots of attention (as planned).  But if she's legit, why waste this opportunity?  I want to read the list she was reading at the podium.  But we'll never read it.  #Sad!

The multi-national nature of major corporations these days have ramped this up.

When I was a young man, Horizontal Mergers were almost a thing of the past, while Vertical Mergers were heavily scrutinized by Congress.  Nowadays, the Sherman Anti-Trust Act is almost a dead letter.  We allow merger upon merger, ostensibly to "save jobs".  Horizontal mergers are back to stay.

Who gives a s**t?

You people would let the government murder your family if it followed the standard decorum.
