If, as part of a criminal investigation, a search warrant was issued for a suspect's home and private documents were found and examined before it is later determined that they have no bearing on the case, would those documents have to be made public under this act?
Also, what if the government held personal credit card information? What about tax filings?
I am skeptical as to the constitutionality of this act.
Private information (including financial information) fall under the confidential/public privacy sections of 2-2-c.
For reference, this bill is largely based on Texas's Open Meetings Act and Public Information Act -- so at its root it is definitely constitutional, though I did have to simplify a bit to make sure this thing wasn't 50 or so pages.
