Our public safety AI has determined with a 77.4% chance that you have mentioned the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in a negative way. Your Yangbux privileges will be revoked for the next 3 months.

He's the Ron Paul of 2020 but sadly he won't win.

What makes him kooky? Just because he is not Gabbard?

Well, that's certainly bold. I'll bite: How?

It's pretty tough to come up with a scenario where Yang wins, but here's my attempt:

1) Yang claims a surprisingly strong showing in Iowa, coming in fourth behind Biden, Warren, and right behind Sanders. Harris and Buttigieg do poorly. Pete drops out.

2) Buoyed by cross-over support in NH, Yang claims a strong third place behind Warren and Biden. Sanders support collapses, split among the other candidates. Harris is going nowhere but sticks around.

3) Yang's momentum breaks him through to a surprise victory in the NV caucuses. Biden easily wins SC. Sanders and Harris drop out, leaving a three-way race between Biden, Warren, and Yang.

Yang consolidates support in states with high Asian populations, young populations, and working class whites. Warren is the latte liberal candidate. Biden wins blacks, retirees, and a bit of everyone else.

4) Super Tuesday: Yang wins Arkansas, California, Maine, Massachusetts, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Utah. Biden wins Alabama, North Carolina, Texas, and Virginia. Warren wins Colorado, Minnesota, and Vermont.

5) March 10: Yang wins Idaho, Michigan, Missouri, North Dakota, Washington. Biden wins Mississippi. Yang has all the momentum at this point. Warren's campaign is on the verge of collapse.

6) March 17: Yang wins Ohio and narrowly bests Biden in Illinois. Biden wins Arizona and Florida. Warren drops out and but doesn't endorse.

7) March 24: Biden wins Georgia.

8) April 4: Yang wins Alaska, Hawaii, and Wyoming. Biden wins Louisiana.

9) April 7: Yang wins Wisconsin.

10) April 28: Biden strikes back a big win in Delaware, but barely ekes out victories in Maryland, New York, and Pennsylvania. Yang wins Connecticut and Rhode Island.

11) May: Yang sweeps Kansas, Indiana, Nebraska, West Virginia, Kentucky, and Oregon.

12) June: Yang wins Montana, New Mexico, South Dakota, and a stunningly close victory in New Jersey.

Map:

13) Warren ultimately endorses Yang and throws her delegates to him, giving him the nomination.

I can only endorse this thread. I cannot believe that me and Sanchez can agree on something for the very first time in five or ten years. I never thought I'd ever see that day.

Wow big respect to Yang. He wants to give the final control to parents rather than just say a complete ban. Although I don't support it its still a much saner policy.

I agree in spirit, cause he truly seemed like an asshole. However, who am I to judge? I'm so proud of Yang for giving him the second and third chance in life which undoubtedly everyone deserves, even - or especially - comedians.

People laugh at this, but it is rather logical when you think of it.

That's not an endorsement of libertarian economics, but it's a sentiment people should ponder very seriously.

It still feels like bad politics though. As someone with a yellow avatar, isn't parental internet censorship kind of a red flag? I mean, in theory I agree, as someone who grew up in a evangelical household with incredibly strong parental controls. I never had access to the darker half of the internet as a teen, and that's not something I regret.

But I worry about the kids who grow up with abusive, or incredibly controlling parents. If you don't have access to resources on mental health, standards of living or LGBT support for teenagers questioning their orientation, then their lives could be significantly worsened. Giving such parents additional control over their children's browsing seems dangerous.

He's entirely correct in this.  Entirely correct.  Parents are responsible for every aspect of their kids' lives until they turn 18, and bear liability for their kids' errors and foolishness.

I am not stating it's a perfect policy or how he would enact is good. It would probably mandate a company do x so I would oppose it but atleast it still gives the actual people who are responsible the final decision.

Libertarian principles tie responsibilities to rights.  The responsibility of being responsible for the entirety of a child's actions ought to be tied to prevent children from doing things that incur liability to the family.

It means saying "No, you can't have a Driver License!" to a 16 year old who will not obey family rules and who has begun to experiment with alcohol and drugs.  It means "No, I will not permit unfettered computer use!" to a child whose impulsivity and foolishness makes them vulnerable to internet predators of all kinds.  It recognizes that rights come with responsibilities, and responsibilities come with the rights needed to execute them.  Anything else is not liberty.
