I'd love to play this if it's still possible?

edit - calling Quellon since he appears to be the only one left

Of course, welcome!

We now have the full roster of characters, I'll redouble efforts to start ASAP.

The game is up!

A few notes:

1.- We'll be doing away with the old system of multiple threads for regions, they're unnecessary. The Gameplay Thread is for all IC posts. All OOC posts go here, so be warned that I will delete OOC posts in the Gameplay Thread.

2.- Keep constant communication with the GM. Inform me of what is being discussed, and what arrangements are being made.

3.- Enjoy! This turn closes Sunday night. POV's may come, but that also depends on how early your orders are sent (so I can then write based on that). Players may write POV's too, but do refrain from self-glorifying yourselves too much, or being too graphic.

No, I decided to scrap that system for this game. In 283 AL there's virtually no magic to speak of (which was the main reason why special abilities were introduced), so while the characters have their known strenghts (Varys excells with spies and intell, the Tyrells can feed entire regions, etc), there's no formal special abilities in gameplay.

And Lumine, are you sure the Lannister's army is just 40,000?

For some reasons, I thought that was 60,000.

For some reasons, I thought that was 60,000.

It tends to depend on the source and context. It can be argued it reached a manpower pool of about 60,000 in the War of the Five Kings, but that was subject upon depleting entire garrisons, conscripting the Lannisport City Watch, press ganging peasants and criminals and so on. And that right after a long and prosperous summer, which means population levels were high.

On this context I believe 40,000 make more sense. If House Lannister wants to reach that 60,000 number it would not be impossible per se, but it would require time and an extra effort to find those men.

Well,
Maybe Kings Landing should be playable? Like by Elia or by Oberyn. After all, Tywin and Tyrion were both playable in a previous game.

And literally making my more powerful vassal playable, while being literally my father in law, so that means he's loyal, would be a H-U-G-E disadvantage to me that I don't deserve lol.

Sorry, there's no current rationale for the Hightowers to be played separatedly, unless the Tyrells were to lose control over some of their vassals.

The numbers feel pretty close imo, though I say the Riverlandsare always underrated based on theirfertility. They've also seen conflict and are split between two powers.

There may be some options for a hopeful player... Wildlings, Iron Bank...

I would say however that the Lannister wealth is understated. It's pretty ridiculous from canon accounts, I mean Tywin was able to loan the crown 3,000,000 GD and still be obscenely wealthy.

Oh no, I just saw that a new game was going on! What roles are open for sign-ups? I'm still salty that the last game got cut off just as Euron was gaining steam...

I would hesitate to allow highly prominent lords because most of the Great Lords currently command the loyalty of most (if not all) of their key vassals (although that might change) and it would be unfair for them to see those taken away from them.

Having taken a look, I can tentatively suggest:

Elia Martell, Princess Dowager of Dragonstone
Oberyn Martell, the Red Viper of Dorne
Grand Maester Pycelle or Ser Jaime Lannister, courtiers at Storm's End
Jon Connington, exiled former Lord of Griffin's Roost
Ser Gerold Hightower, Lord Commander of the Kingsguard

Lewyn Martell, Commander of the Royal Army
Deremond Darry, Lord of Darry
Alester Florent, Lord of Brightwater Keep
Jon Umber, Lord of Last Hearth
Roose Bolton, Lord of the Dreadfort

FFS as much as I love Bolton lol...

Connington definitely could have a role and I still say wildlings or overseas powers remain an option...

Honestly, I hope Oberyn Martel will be made playable. The Crownlands should be playable given their wealth.

Just wondering whether Stannis married to Selyse as in show-canon, as the turn indicates, or single as in book-canon?

He wasn't married until after Robert became king per book.

Okay, you'll be included at the start of turn 2.

Just wondering whether Stannis married to Selyse as in show-canon, as the turn indicates, or single as in book-canon?

That was my mistake, I was sure Selyse marrying him before the siege was book-canon too. I'll get around publishing details on each family after I manage to update the 2012 Game.
