Mixed. His views would, in a blue state, make him an HP, but since he is a Dem from WV, he is a relative FF.

Mixed. I wouldn't vote for him, but he's needed to give the Democrats more power in the Senate.

Has some mental capabilities, but is stuck in a state that has nowhere to go but down.

FF as a person and senator.

But, I still want Evan Jenkins to win.

Will you support Manchin if Jenkins loses the primary?

Wish he would stick on principle, but less awful than the rest of his party:

Massive HP - he screws over working class people with his centrist voting record (attempts to deregulate Wall Street, make Obamacare worse, is one of the most hawkish Dems, and has very little regard to the environment. I get it that he needs to be socially/environmentally conservative to win, but that doesn't make him a FF) and I find his attempts to be bi-partisan cringe worthy. He's good on miners health insurance issues, but that's about it.

When my 85 year old relative was trapped on the side of a mountain with her infant great-granddaughter watching the Elk River rise in a thousand year flood, Manchin was busy inspecting the damage at the Greenbrier. That's all you need to know about Photo Joe.

Voted FF. Notably present recently in defense of DACA. Always confused at why he didn't come around on Obamacare re: it is a winning issue in Appalachia. He's bad for the environment, but there is zero chance we'd get a winner on that issue out of WV with coal's influence.
