I like Arizona, and I like the desert, and I like the Colorado River, but this county is horrible.

Bullhead City and that area south of LV is too hot for non-mutants, and the less said about Colorado City the better. I'd like some organization to Do Something about that place.

In 1953 the Governor of Arizona ordered a massive raid there by state troopers and the Arizona National Guard, it was a PR disaster and possibly even a factor in his losing reelection next year. That basically caused the government of Arizona to ignore it ever since: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Short_Creek_raid

It's been long enough to give it another try.

Lake Havasu City is basically the mecca for southwestern elderly white trash. And Colorado city is worse for obvious reasons.

Overall, a meth head deplorable Paradise.

I spent a couple of weeks there a few years ago.  Not fit for humans to live.  Should be turned into a national park.

I've been in Mohave county AZ, but only to go from Mesquite NV to Zion NP in UT. The drive on I-15 was quite scenic. That drive took me through the AZ strip north of the Colorado with all of about 10K people. It is isolated from the rest of AZ and was largely settled by UT Mormons. It seems that for many here, the issues with Mohave county would be solved by AZ ceding the strip to UT.

Actual Hell. I'm not sure if there's a more paranoid, hateful place in America.

I agree. As a general rule, borders should be natural boundaries, and the Colorado should serve as that boundary along the entire UT/AZ border.
