I propose a merger of the Liberty or Death and the Coolidge Society caucuses. I also support the idea of a merger of the Perot Group and the Non-Interventionists.

Seconded.

Seconded.

I'd be fine with doing this (since no one has been running some of these in a while).

If we do this, would anyone be interested in running the merged Non-Interventionists/Perot Group caucus, since both of those were lacking a Chair?

I think merging the caucuses is acceptable, as long as there is some organized process for that.

Anyway, I am going to leave fhtagn in charge of the convention and keeping as close to schedule as possible. While I do hope to be on, a RL crisis has occurred and the next few days are going to be extremely difficult to get through.

I propose a merger of the Liberty or Death and the Coolidge Society caucuses. I also support the idea of a merger of the Perot Group and the Non-Interventionists.

On the former note, I think it would make more sense to rebrand the Coolidge Society into more of a socon/"True Conservative" group now that there is a solidly libertarian one--maybe with RFayette or Potus in charge or something. (Just names I'm throwing out, please no one think I'm volunteering anyone for anything Tongue)

On the latter note, two points:

-I like the idea of smaller caucuses that encapsulate a certain set of issues, i.e. being more focused, complimenting larger, broadly-focused caucuses like Liberty or Death! that serve a certain tentpole ideology of the party (the "right triangle" of moderatism, libertarianism, and conservatism) across the board. It makes sense to have one for reform-type stuff whether it's a conservative, a moderate, or a libertarian supporting those issues, and another for opposition to war, which can also come from many different points on the spectrum of domestic issues.

-Why would we combine the Perot Group and Non-Interventionists? That seems to defeat the idea of focus on a certain thing. And if the idea of narrow-focused caucuses is something only I like (which is a possibility I guess Tongue) then why would we keep them around at all? If anything it would make sense to merge Non-Interventionists into Liberty or Death!, and merge the Perot Group into the Main Street Partnership (which makes sense given that I think LT might technically be in charge of the Perot Group since he was Vice-Chair of it--so they're basically pseudo-merged already Tongue), so we only have the broadly-focused caucuses.

Just my two cents--sorry if I got too rambly Tongue

Another idea is that we could do away with the Non-Interventionists entirely, as the main goals of that caucus could arguably be covered in more than one caucus.

As for The Perot Group and Coolidge Society, I see Leinad's point and can see how MSP could be easily merge with The Perot Group considering it's current leadership structure and basic goals of the caucuses. I also agree that since Liberty or Death! is a more libertarian-based caucus that we could keep Coolidge Society as a more conservative caucus and keep those interests separate.

Certainly open to other suggestions, or if there's anyone interested in taking on one of the caucuses currently without leadership, that could solve the issue of "what do we did with this inactive caucus?"

Given that it appears we will not be looking at an actual primary for any positions, I am considering extending the sign in period and period of declaration and candidate speeches through February 5th (Vice President and President speeches will still be taking place on the 5th). If there are any objections, or in the event that a positions faces a primary, we can revisit this and shift around some of the dates as needed.

Just a friendly reminder, everyone should have received PMs, but there is one day left for signing in and candidate speeches. Vice President PiT and I will also be delivering our speeches tomorrow night.

Also waiting for more feedback on folks on how we want to proceed with the caucuses and how they are structured within the party.

As a friendly reminder since my post last night, sign in, nominations, and candidate declarations ends tonight!

Candidates who have yet to give their speeches must do so tonight as well!

Starting tomorrow, we move on with the rest of the schedule!

As a follow up to my above point, I will volunteer to leader either/both of the liberty or death and Coolidge society,  if no one else will to prevent them from folding.

Returning to this stage four months later, I am proud to run again with President fhtagn and claim this party's support to return to the White House. Many people doubted us, and especially doubted the truthfulness of the President's political evolution. I am pleased to know that the concerns turned out to be unfounded.

In the time so far, our Administration has worked to create a Federal Budget necessary to making the government's work have meaning and impact. We have navigated our way through dicey situations abroad and worked to secure the freedoms of Atlasian citizens at home. President fhtagn and I see eye to eye on many issues, and that is why I continue to run with her.

I am no third wheel, however. I have been working on my part to keep Congress moving. As with the Federal Budget, a variety of factors have come together to slow us down and make it harder for your lawmakers to work for you. Nevertheless, we are making steady progress in cutting through the backlog of bills that were passed by one chamber. As someone who has long valued process and activity, I take this role seriously and hope to continue to succeed in it.

I am speaking here tonight because the Federalist Party trusts us to continue our work, and having that trust means a lot to me. I would like to thank everyone for their vote of confidence in this Administration, and I hope that we continue to honor that vote and prove to the voters of this Republic that we merit another term. Good night and Dave bless Atlasia!

Good evening, fellow Federalists!

Wow! It hardly feels like it has been four months already since I've been on stage, speaking to all of you, and asking for your support for me and my friend and Vice President, PiT.

I remember back when I was first considering running, approaching PiT as a potential running mate, and speaking for weeks and even months on the kinds of things we were going to run on, and policies we both can support. I chose PiT because as someone who was going through an ideological shift, he was there to help understand and support such changes. Over the months our friendship began to grow, and we've learned that we have much in common ideologically, and personally. And over these last four months of the blood, sweat, and tears we put into our jobs, where most friendships and working relationships might have easily fallen apart, ours grew stronger. I don't know what I would do without all the he has contributed, not only to our campaigns, but to the message we send to all of Atlasia, to his work in Congress, and as a source of stability in times where the job became more stressful than most could handle.

Which brings me here to you all. What we both have provided together since taking office has been that source of stability that Atlasia needs. And when things seemed to have been falling apart, we spent countless hours rolling up our sleeves and making sure we fix it. We did this by keeping our involvement in the Second Korean War as limited as possible and ending the war quickly. We did this by tackling issues that have long been ignored by previous administrations, such as the Foreign Relations Review and the Budget. We did this by fighting what appeared to be tough battles to ensure that our rights shall not be infringed under any circumstances. We did this by protecting our environment and finding ways to hold ourselves accountable.  We did this by re-establishing the National Security Council, so that we could better coordinate and protect our military and security of our great nation. We did this by protecting our workers and students, and ensuring that all Atlasians, no matter their income or political affiliation, have more opportunities to achieve the Atlasian Dream. But our work here is not finished.

I am here tonight because next weekend, Atlasia will once again choose who leads us. I am proud to be part of the ticket representing the Federalist Party. I am forever grateful of the support that we have received from all of you throughout this journey. And I will be proud once again when we are standing before you all delivering another victory speech! Thank you all for your time for tuning in, have an amazing night, and Dave bless Atlasia!
