So... it seems like this all boils down to the evidence used for the FISA warrant coming in part from the Steele Dossier, and Steele being anti-Trump politically. So, do we now have to discount any evidence if the witness has a different political leaning than the defendant?

Yeah, if anything, this just gives weight to the Steele dossier as legit. I'm sure Nunes's calculus is "nobody believes the pee pee tape is real, so if I show that the report disclosing it was used to get a FISA warrant, FISA itself will come crashing down!" Flawless.

My presumption has been that Trump and his stupidity trust think Mueller is getting close to major dirt: conspiracy, money laundering, obstruction charges for  Qusay and Uday Trump, or Don Trump himself. They're doing this out of desperation and fear.
