Unfortunately, I'm too busy in IRL life to fully commit to a campaign like this (why I had to drop out of the 2012 game), but I will be eagerly watching!

For the ultimate meme, I should just jump in as Bobby Jindal.

Ahh, why not, I'll enter as Jindal. I am quite busy though, so I might be slow to get updates in. What's the state of the race so far?

welcome, maybe with the conservative vote splitting Portman has a chance in Iowa
That's one way to welcome a new candidate.

Awesome. The old website I was using was very clumsy, so thank you.

Hannity will announce by denouncing all the other GOP candidates on his show (on a day with extremely high viewership) and making the case that he is the only one who can save good, Christian America.

That's a solid strategy. Don't see anything wrong with that. Wink

He also attacks Jindal as being a "fake American" and shows "solid evidence" that he's not loyal to the US, he spends 15 minutes "proving" Ted Cruz was linked to the JFK assassination and "an agent of George Soros", and attacks Rob Portman as being a "liberal in disguise" who's "connected to the Clinton Foundation".

I dare you to call Jindal a "chicken diddler". I dare you. Wink

If you want context, have a laugh here: https://uselectionatlas.org/FORUM/index.php?topic=281063.msg5987304#msg5987304

Jindal is in. Nice to see wx has jumped in!

I'm not letting Hannity in because I really want every candidate to have an equal chance of winning, and clearly Hannity would not be getting above 6% in this game and wouldn't really be adding anything constructive to it so I'm going to veto this one.

Oh wait Rip OK.

Wait wait wait.

Could I play as Hannity as a non-candidate actor?

Edit: considering half the party considers his show gospel, I think Hannity would probably have an unfair advantage if he ran.

looking at the current polls, here is my predicted results if the nominee was chosen when the polls were taken:

Clinton Nomination or Bredesen nomination likely, also same for a brokered convention

Cruz Nomination is the most likely

I see Portman doing better in the northeast and west but less in the Midwest

The #JindalWave is coming.

Are Hodges and Butterfield still in? They haven't posted at all in the gameplay thread, and Butterfield doesn't even have an announcement speech.

If I understand this right, aren't the fields effectively:

Republican:
Cruz
Jindal
Paul
Portman

Democratic:
Clinton
Bernie
Bredesen

I'm trying to read the last few turns to get a feel of what's happened so far.

You forgot Mattis, Napotionol and Patrick

I'm talking about the candidates that are polling high enough to win a state, and the convention at-large.

I think that's about right, though you may have to reconsider Mattis

Has he been running a campaign?

Here is my own prediction for the Dems and Reps that have been slightly modified with Jindal and the war between Bernie, Sanders, and Clinton:

I just don't see Sanders having an appeal to the Indiana and Great Plains voters when there is Bredesen as an alternative to Clinton. Result is the same, Clinton nomination

If Jindal does what he did in the 2012 game, then, well, we could be seeing a Nomination of Jindal as he would be seen as a more moderate Ted Cruz. Still, as of rn, Cruz and Paul might get the nomination.

Here's the image:

Wow, alrighty here. If you didn't know, there's a helpful tool called Personal Messages.

Typically it is bad form to put this stuff out in the open (and in general I try to not make deals like these anyway, seems a tad deceptive IMO).

After more thought i'm leaning towards king.

Alright, make an announcement speech and then prepare to campaign once the Next Turn has been posted.

On here or game thread?

Post the announcement speech in the game thread.
