Ahh, why not, I'll enter as Jindal. I am quite busy though, so I might be slow to get updates in.
welcome, maybe with the conservative vote splitting Portman has a chance in Iowa

You know what, no. Not Carter.

I'll enter on the Republican side as Sean Hannity.

Hannity will announce by denouncing all the other GOP candidates on his show (on a day with extremely high viewership) and making the case that he is the only one who can save good, Christian America.

That's a solid strategy. Don't see anything wrong with that. Wink

He also attacks Jindal as being a "fake American" and shows "solid evidence" that he's not loyal to the US, he spends 15 minutes "proving" Ted Cruz was linked to the JFK assassination and "an agent of George Soros", and attacks Rob Portman as being a "liberal in disguise" who's "connected to the Clinton Foundation".
This game just got nasty

looking at the current polls, here is my predicted results if the nominee was chosen when the polls were taken:

Clinton Nomination or Bredesen nomination likely, also same for a brokered convention

Cruz Nomination is the most likely

I see Portman doing better in the northeast and west but less in the Midwest

Are Hodges and Butterfield still in? They haven't posted at all in the gameplay thread, and Butterfield doesn't even have an announcement speech.

If I understand this right, aren't the fields effectively:

Republican:
Cruz
Jindal
Paul
Portman

Democratic:
Clinton
Bernie
Bredesen

I'm trying to read the last few turns to get a feel of what's happened so far.
You forgot Mattis, Napotionol and Patrick

I'm talking about the candidates that are polling high enough to win a state, and the convention at-large.
I see some surprises coming, I think no candidacy is doomed yet

That map is definitely wrong because you have Ohio to Paul and D.C. And Virginia to Jindal but those are definitely going to Portman since they are D.C. Insiders and moderates. And if Portman doesn't win Any of the first four states he would drop out

MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT

“This has been fun... but I’m withdrawing my campaign and endorsing Senator Santorum. He knows how to handle this country. He will be the best possible nominee to face, and beat the democrats. I love you all. Bon Jovi forever!”

Santorum dropped out. You can endorse Jindal though.

Wow, alrighty here. If you didn't know, there's a helpful tool called Personal Messages.

Typically it is bad form to put this stuff out in the open (and in general I try to not make deals like these anyway, seems a tad deceptive IMO).
Yeah, I usually wouldn't do that but he offered it first

Tempted to join, I love me a election game. Dunno if I wanna jump into the primaries, or maybe pick a 3rd party.
You could run as Rick Scott, Jim Webb or Joe Biden

I have a better idea:

I'll play as Jesse Ventura running with the Libertarian party.

If Rand Paul get the nomination, you're doomed tho.

That is something to consider yes. Hmm, I'd hate to wait till primaries are over.

You can go for Angus King, who is quite popular already.

I was also considering him yes. Though I'd run into a similar issue if Bernie wins.

Two different niches. Angus is centrist, Bernie's left. Bernie nomination might actually help Angus.
King is no centrist and Lieberman would be taking votes away from Portman and Brendsen

Is it possible for me to get an extension on my schedule post? I've been quite busy the last two days and will be much more free tomorrow.
I think grassroots is still on vacation

I think this will be the first official results of each primary for each state if the current polls continue:

Bredesen is currently leading in Iowa and possibly SC too, so expect him to win those states, Bernie may be able to snatch NH, but NV is a sure Clinton win.

Cruz can definitely carry IA but he may not be the best fit for NH, SC, and NV. I fully expect Jindal to carry SC and NV while Portman carries NH

I think Rob Portman will do better in Nevada than 4th since he has the endorsements from both the sitting Senator and Governor
