went down a weird bit of a rabbit hole today about hockey players getting political (upon thinking of Ovechkin's pretty open support of Putin) and found that apparently Dominik Hasek said back in 2020 he'll be running for President in 2028, though obviously things can change. As a Buffalo fan, it certainly would be interesting to see that. If he wins I hope the news plays the Rick Jeanneret "we are not worthy!" line lol

Not sure of his politics other than calling Ovechkin a chickensh*t after Crimea and more recently calling for all Russian players to be kicked out of the NHL unless they disavow the invasion of Ukraine.

Hasek said he wanted all russians players regardless of supporting putin or not to be kicked out of the nhl.

Yeah I think I might have been thinking of someone else’s statements about it then.
