January
January 20th, 2017:President Susan Collins issued Executive Order 13765 to reform and replace Obamacare, stating that it was
"...time for Republicans and Democrats alike to fix the healthcare issue that is plaguing our country."January 24th, 2017:The Senate confirmed Jon Huntsman Jr. as Ambassador to the United Nations in a vote of 98-2.
January 25th, 2017:President Susan Collins issued Executive Order 13767 that requires states to pay men and women equally for the same job. She exclaimed that it was about time somebody enforced equal pay for women.
President Susan Collins also issued Executive Order 13768 to reform the immigration system and make it easier for people to legally immigrate from Mexico, instead of crossing the border illegally. The executive order also increased border control along the Mexican border.
January 26th, 2017:President Susan Collins met with British Prime Minister Theresa May in Philadelphia. The two discussed NATO and Russia, and later held a joint press conference. Prime Minister Theresa May was the first international leader to visit President Collins since her inauguration. President Collins stated that she
"...enjoyed speaking to Prime Minister May, and I'm looking forward to keeping the relationship between the United States and Britain close."January 30th, 2017:President Susan Collins announces that she will continue to enforce Executive Order 13672. She exclaimed that
"There is no reason to stop protecting our LGBT workers, and any attempt to stop protecting LGBT workers undermines American values."January 31st, 2017:President Collins announced that United States Circuit Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals, William Pryor, as her nominee for the Supreme Court position left open by Antonin Scalia's death. With a Republican majority, Pryor will most likely get a senate hearing.
February
February 1st, 2017:Secretary of State Dean Heller is confirmed by the senate in a vote of 59-40.
President Susan Collins proclaimed the month of February as National African American History Month.
February 7th, 2017:Vice President Brian Sandoval became the first Vice President since 1945 to cast a tie breaking vote to confirm a Cabinet member. Secretary of Education Pam Stewart was confirmed by the senate in a vote of 51-50.
February 11th, 2017:President Susan Collins met with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzō Abe and discussed the future relationship between America and Japan, the two also discussed recent nuclear test conducted by North Korea.
February 13th, 2017:President Susan Collins held a joint press conference with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
The senate confirmed John Thune as Secretary of the Treasury in a vote of 58-42.
February 16th, 2017:Republicans keep hold of South Dakota. Matt Mitchels succeeded John Thune as senator in a special election.

Tom Daschle - 30.5%
February 24th, 2017:President Susan Collins attend the Conservative Political Action Conference. Although she was met with a rowdy crowd, she discussed immigration, healthcare, and abortion. The conference went well and Collins seemed to connect with a conservative base for once.
February 27th, 2017:Former President George W. Bush praised the administrative and bipartisan actions of President Susan Collins on the TODAY show. With a smirk, he said
”...She was a great Secretary of State, and she’s an ever greater president. Hell, by the end of her term she might have me, Bill, and Barack beat…”February 28th, 2017:President Susan Collins gave her first address to Congress optimistically. She discussed immigration, North Korea, climate change, and the Affordable Care Act. While she remained moderate on some issues, she appealed to conservatives with immigration reform and healthcare reform, while appealing to liberals with climate change.
While the majority of Republicans agreed with the president, Texan senator Ted Cruz stated that
”...President Collins plays too closely with liberals for my liking.”The democratic response came from Vermont senator Bernie Sanders. The former democratic candidate who lost to President Collins in the 2016 election gave the response via a 14-minute Facebook video. In the video, Senator Sanders criticized the president for her stances on healthcare, immigration, and her lack of mention for income inequality.
March
March 1st, 2017President Susan Collins proclaimed March as National Women’s History Month.
March 7th, 2017President Susan Collins spoke to Japanese Prime Minister Shinzō Abe over the phone to show support in Japan’s reaction to North Korea’s recent nuclear test.
Secretary of State Dean Heller met with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin.
March 8th, 2017Formal drafting for a replacement of the Affordable Care Act began.
President Susan Collins held a dinner in celebration of National Women’s Day.
March 10th, 2017President Susan Collins spoke by telephone with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, extending a personal invitation to the White House.
Secretary of State Dean Heller met with Iraqi Minister of Oil Jabbar Al-Luaibi.
Secretary of Defense James Mattis responded to the Armed Forces nude photo scandal, calling the actions "unacceptable.”
March 12th, 2017Republicans retain hold of Nevada. Danny Tarkanian succeed Dean Heller.

March 15th, 2017Secretary of State Dean Heller made his first official visit to Japan, and discussed potential threats by North Korea.
March 17th, 2017President Susan Collins held a joint press conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
Secretary of State Dean Heller visited South Korea to discuss threats made by North Korea and possible military action.
Vice President Brian Sandoval met with Costa Rican President Luis Guillermo Solis.
March 24th, 2017President Susan Collins announced that she plans to increase military spending in order to defeat ISIS within
