I like Kasich's politics, but I can't reconcile a vote with Hagan at the bottom of the ticket (I'm pro-life). Trump's ticket is too far to the right for me, I'd abstain or write someone in.

As mentioned above, Haley would have been a far better VP pick, and someone I would enthusiastically cast my vote for.

August 13th, 2020: Day 1 of Democratic Convention: Good Ol' Days

On day 1 of the Democratic National Convention in Milwaukee, Democrats tried to remind the American people of the accomplishments of Democrats of the past. The keynote speaker of the night was former President Barack Obama, who fired up the crowd about what could be an unprecedented 4th term of Democratic control of the White House. Other speakers included former Vice President Joe Biden and former Vermont Governor Howard Dean. This was a clear move towards moderate Democrats, as President Clinton hopes to unite the Democratic party in the face of the moderate ticket of Kasich/Hagan.

August 14th, 2020: Day 2 of Democratic Convention: Trubute to Clinton Legacy

A heartfelt tribute was paid to the late President Bill Clinton and the legacy as a whole of the Clinton family tonight, as former Vice President Al Gore took the stage as the keynote speaker. Gore delivered an uncharacteristically touching speech that brought many in the convention hall to tears and even the Vice President. "He was a shining example of what is good about America. The boy from Hope brought his country just that". Other speakers included Chelsea Clinton and Senators Chuck Schumer and Jennifer Granholm.

August 15th, 2020: Day 3 of Democratic Convention: Kaine Eclipsed by Kander

On a night that was supposed to be all about the Vice President, Senator Jason Kander of Missouri stole the spotlight. The young rising star set the Democrats on fire and left to chants of "Kander! Kander! Kander!". The Missouri Democrat won a close election in 2016 over Roy Blunt and burst onto the national stage with eye-catching campaign ads in 2016 and a moderate record in the Senate. VP Kaine also spoke in a folksy, down-to-earth speech, but didn't get the reaction that Jason Kander got from the convention hall.

August 16th, 2020: Day 4 of Democratic Convention: Clinton Takes the Stage

President Clinton officially accepted the Democratic Nomination for President in 2020 tonight, launching a general election campaign to save her Presidency. Clinton argued that her administration has been successful, from infrastructure reform to stricter gun control. She also stressed her key wins against ISIS and talked about her plan to make American energy independent. Clinton also talked about the legacy of the first female President, saying, "My Presidency is not about me. It's about all the little girls out there who now know that yes, they can be anything they want to be. Even President". 73% of viewers said they liked the speech while 55% said they are more inclined to vote for her.

This is one of my favorite TLs so far. Although i do think Trump/Moore would be doing more damage to Kasich with conservative voters and conservative leaning independents especially with his pick of Hagan. I also don't see many liberal voters switching away from  their party's President Clinton to Kasich. But overall super entertaining

Frankly, given how GOP primary voters rejected Kasich in 2016 (IRL) and how they embraced Trump and Moore, a Kasich/Hagan ticket would be third place. Perhaps the only reason they're not in this timeline is that the Republican Party and the establishment has got behind them; you definitely have some conservative cred when Ted Cruz and Mike Pence are on your side.

I tend to agree that Kasich seems to be overperforming here. I expect that Hillary would win here if her approval ratings are in the mid-forties. Probably with a comfortable electoral college advantage, but winning a huge number of states by bare pluralities.

August 19th, 2020: Trump Hosts Massive Rally to Mirror Conventions

As the top two candidates to President got their own week-long conventions, Donald Trump seemed to suffer from the lack of media coverage. His poll numbers, over the two weeks of the DNC and the RNC, dropped from 16% to 9%. In an effort to change the course, the Trump campaign held a massive, primetime rally in Birmingham, Alabama. Roy Moore, Trump's VP pick, spoke as well as many Trump endorsers. It was a convention crammed into one night and the media went crazy. In a temperate speech, Trump laid out why he is the best pick for conservative Americans, citing his hawkish views on immigration and foreign policy.

August 23rd, 2020: Kasich Lobbying Against Trump in Debates

John Kasich has reached out to the Commission on Presidential Debates, hoping to stop Donald Trump from entering the debates as a third party candidate. Many believe, after a quick dip, Trump's poll numbers will be back up to 15%, the threshold for being let into the Presidential debates. But, Kasich's argument is that Trump's past to insensitive remarks will disrupt what is normally a quiet, thoughtful debate. The Kasich campaign would be hurt if Trump, with his conservative appeal, is let into the primetime debates where most voters make up their minds.

September 1st, 2020: McConnell Endorses Cornyn for Leader Position

Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who is locked in a battle for reelection that is growing ever closer, announced in December that he would not seek reelection as the Republican Leader in the Senate. Now, McConnell has endorsed a successor: Texas Senator John Cornyn. Cornyn was expected to be the next GOP leader, but a challenge seemed to be brewing from Wyoming Senator John Barrasso. This announcement will most likely snuff that challenge as McConnell wants to avoid a civil war within the Republican caucus.

Kasich's move to try and exclude Trump from the debates would hurt him among conservatives. It would be seen as weak. The narrative among the base would be that he feels threatened by Trump and  is pandering to the establishment to take down an outsider candidate.

September 3rd, 2020: Trump Let Into Debates

Independent candidate for President, Donald Trump, will be let into the Presidential debates, the Commission on Presidential Debates announced today. This will be the first three-way debate since 1992 when Ross Perot ran for President. This is a major blow to the Kasich campaign, which had lobbied for Trump to be excluded from the debates. Kasich's lobbying has hurt his standing with core conservatives and has led to a dip in the polls as Trump continues to rise. President Clinton is looking more and more likely to win a second term, something that seemed impossible a year ago.

September 13th, 2020: Clinton Leads in Georgia, Close in Texas

President Clinton looks to be surging in red states, as two polls show her leading in Georgia, a long-time Democratic dream state, while Texas looks like it is within the margin of error. Clinton leads Ohio Governor John Kasich and Businessman Donald Trump with 38% to Kasich's 33% to Trump's 23%. In Texas, John Kasich still leads with 40% to Clinton's 38% to Trump's 17%. These polls show that Trump is hurting Kasich in normally red states, opening up the Clinton map in the election. President Clinton has scheduled a rally in Houston, Texas next week.

September 21st, 2020: Kasich Strikes Bipartisan Tone as Trump and Clinton Bicker in 1st Presidential Debate

In the first Presidential debate in St. Louis today, Ohio Governor John Kasich came away as the best option for President, as President Clinton and Donald Trump dredged up old rivalries. Clinton and Trump argued about everything from taxes to immigration, leaving Kasich to jump in and suggest a bipartisan sollution. 62% said that Kasich was more "ellectable" than Clinton or Trump while 75% said that they "liked" him. Overall, 59% said Kasich won the debate while 30% say Clinton won the debate. Only 11% say Trump was the victor.

September 23rd, 2020: Trump to Loan Campaign $10 Million

Donald Trump, who is waging an Independent campaign for the Presidency said today that he will loan his campaign $10 million in hopes to making gains in national polls. Trump did not do very well in the first national debate two days ago and is hoping to reverse a expected fall in the polls. Trump believes that a massive ad buy will help his message get out their and hekp his campaign gain more traction with voters. Trump is launching a national ad that highlights his 2016 campaign and attacks Kasich and Clinton for being "part of the swamp".

October 4th, 2020: Kaine Wins VP Debate

Vice President Kaine won tonights Vice Presidential debate, attacking Hagan for switching parties and Roy Moore over his controversial past. He arguably made a better case for reelecting President Clinton than her entire campaign, saying that she is the only candidate with the experience and real-world knowledge to run the country. Kaine also said that Americans should reject Donald Trump and Roy Moore, citing their controversial pasts. Kay Hagan and Roy Moore underwhelmed, with Moore only getting 13 minutes of speaking time.

October 9th, 2020: Trump Leads in Alabama, Mississippi

New polls show Donald Trump leading in two deep South states, hurting John Kasich's chances of winning the Presidency. Trump leads Kasich in Alabama with 39% of the vote, Kasich has 32% and Clinton comes in with 24%. In Mississippi, Trump leads Clinton, picking up 41% of the vote. Clinton has 35% and Kasich has 22%. Kasich's lack of support in Mississippi shows how many conservatives have flocked to Trump and Kasich's addition of a Democrat to the ticket did not help his chances.

October 15th, 2020: Trump Hogs Spotlight at 2nd Presidential Debate

Independent candidate Donald Trump sucked up screentime in tonights Presidential debate in Charlottesville, Virginia. Trump had a long line of crazy remarks, even saying John Kasich was a "Washington liberal". Trump attacked Clinton over her past email scandals and dredged up his pledge to "lock her up" when elected President. This performance will most likely help his standing in the race, as 38% of viewers said he won the debate. 32% said Clinton won while 30% said Kasich won.

October 21st, 2020: Roy Moore Accused of Sexual Misconduct

Roy Moore, Vice Presidential candidate under Donald Trump, has been accused of unwanted sexual advances by Leigh Corfman. She says that when she was a tennager, a 30-something Roy Moore sexually assaulted her. These accusations of sexual misconduct are a huge blow to the Trump campaingn and are bringing memories of when Trump's famous Access Hollywood tape surfaces 4 years ago. Many people are calling the ticket a "pair of sexual predators". Roy Moore has denied the accusations and has said he will refuse to leave the Independent ticket, even is asked to by Trump himself.

October 26th, 2020: As Trump Collapses, Kasich Surges

Former Governor of Ohio John Kasich is seeing a surge of support as Independent candidate Donald Trump is collapsing in the polls. Trump has fallen from 20% to 4% in national polls in less than a month. Kasich's campaign is saying that they are seeing a resurgence of conservative support and the Kasich/Hagan ticket has pulled basically even with President Clinton and Vice President Kaine. This race has gone from a three-way race to a two-way race with Trump taking just enough support from Kasich to give Clinton a lead. Roy Moore, the embattled VP pick of Trump, has had 11 more women come out against him and allege sexual misconduct. Moore has not left the ticket and Trump is sticking by Moore, tweeting, "Roy Moore is a good man that will be an amazing VP! These allegations are TOTALLY FALSE. BIASED media is trying to sink the #TrumpTrain".

October 27th, 2020: Sparks Fly in 3rd Presidential Debate

President Clinton and former Ohio Governor John Kasich both attacked Donald Trump tonight at the final Presidential Debate in Minneapolis, in the wake of sexual misconduct allegations made against Roy Moore. Clinton said that this "disqualified him" from being President while Kasich called the allegations "horrifying". Trump definitely took a hit, with only 3% of viewers saying he won the debate while 55% said Clinton won. Kasich won 42% of viewers.

October 30th, 2020: Democrats Poised to Pick Up a Handful of Senate Seats

There are a number of key races in 2020 for the battle of the Senate. Republicans have 57 seats and are defending 3 seats in blue to tossup states. In Colorado, Democrat John Hickenlooper, the former Governor, looks like he will win against incumbent Sen. Cory Garnder. Gardner ran for President this year and has been attacking for trying to "abandon" the state. In North Carolina, incumbent Thom Tillis is locked in a tight race with former Lt. Governor Walter Dalton putting up a tough fight. In Maine, the election of Congresswoman Chellie Pingree to the Senate is all but assured. If Democrats win all three, they would gain only 4 seats, putting them at 46 in the Senate. There are 3 other races that are wildcards. In Montana, the popular Democratic Governor is running against incumbent Senator Steve Daines. This race is very close. In Louisiana, another Democrat is running in a tight race for Senate in a red state. Mitch Landrieu, the Democratic mayor of New Orleans, is locked in a tight race with Sen. Bill Cassidy. In Kentucky, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell may lose his seat to Democrat Jack Conway and in Georgia, Senator David Perdue, a Republican, is in danger of losing his seat to State Rep. Stacey Evans.

November 2nd, 2020: Too Close to Call

The race for the White House has never been closer, with final polls before Election Day showing the race deadlocked. President Clinton does have an edge, but all polls show the race within the margin of error. Independent Donald Trump has made up some ground since the shocking sexual allegations against his running mate, Roy Moore, One the eve of the election, Hillary Clinton is holding rallies in Detroit, Pheonix and Charlotte, North Carolina, John Kasich is also in Detroit while also rallying in Milwaukee and Cleveland. Donald Trump spent the day in Alabama, holding rallies in Mobile and Birmingham. The next President of the United States will be decided tomorrow.

Isn't it Landrieu running, though, rather than Bel Edwards (who was reelected just a while ago)?
