Yes.

He had FOUR articles brought against him, not just the two on perjury.  He bribed witnesses and obstructed justice.

If he can't be trusted to tell the truth about a mistake that didn't initially hurt anyone, how can he be trusted on more important matters?

We impeached Nixon for lying under oath; Clinton did the same. What's good for one is good for the other.

You may be right, the GOP may not have tried to take down a Republican President, that doesn't mean they'd have been right to let such a thing go.
