Bysiewicz has dropped out, appears that she is clearing the field for a big name possibly Blumenthal or Dodd.

It doesn't matter.  Rell will win.  She is an awesome Governor.

Dodd would make interesting but he has said he isn't running.

I don't think this necessarily means that Blumenthal's going to run.

He and Bysiewicz can each holdtheir respective offices as long as they want, or can wait until Rell retires.  No reason to throw it away in a run for Gov this year.  If Rell chooses to run for election, not even Dodd would have an easy time against her.

Uh, no she isn't. By this point Blumenthal should be Governor, but he was a idiot and didn't run in 2002 when he would have won. The only reason Rell is popular is that she's a (very!) moderate Republican like Rowland was, except he never allowed a man to be murdered like Jodi did this year, which will be a stain on our state for a long time.

I don't know too much about Bysiewicz, which is a bad sign if I'm in her party and state. I still wish Blumie would run, at least to make the race plausible.

I hope Rell runs and wins.  She has done a good job as governor, and we need some protection from the rapacious Democrats who control both houses of the legislature.

I admire the fact that Rell stood up to the mindless liberals who were defending Michael Ross and trying to prevent his execution.  I'm hoping for the death penalty for Christopher DiMeo, who shot two Fairfield jewelry store owners in cold blood after robbing them.  When we no longer have these types of crimes, then we can get rid of the death penalty.

I suspect that Bysiewicz knew she couldn't take on Rell, who is expected to run.  Blumenthal has been stuck in the attorney general job since Moses parted the Red Sea, and I'm sure he's chomping at the bit for higher office.  He'll probably run against Rell, though he never had the courage to run against Rowland.
