Resolution in support of DDT Exports

1. Whereas, DDT is still a legal pesticide in many other countries, and
Whereas Atlasia is the best country for manufacturing, and
Whereas jobs are good, and
Whereas cutting our own throat economically is foolish,
be it resolved by the Southern Region that the government of Atlasia should lift the ban on the manufacture, transportation, or sale of DDT to be exported to countries where it is legal.

Better Skools Act

SECTION I: NAME
This act shall be known as the "Better Skools Act"

SECTION II: SCHOOL FUNDING
1. The Recycling Awareness in Schools Act shall be amended as follows:

2. Nothing in Regional or State law shall prohibit school districts in the Southern Region from pooling together to buy heating and utility services.
3. No public funds shall be used for transportation expenses related to private school students commuting to private schools.

SECTION III: CURRICULUM
1. The Southern Athletic Requirement Act is hereby repealed.
2. Computer coding is hereby classified as a foreign language for foreign language curriculum requirements.
3. Drivers’ Education classes offered in public schools shall include police stops, related rights, and what to do and not do during police stops within the offered curriculum.
4. The Southern Chamber hereby encourages local schools to refer income qualifying students for SNAP enrollment if they are not already enrolled.

SECTION IV: TIMING
1. This act shall take effect immediately except for Section III-2 and Section III-3 which shall take effect at the beginning of the next school year.

Public Workers Protection Act

1. No State or locality in the Southern Region shall prohibit an employee of the State or locality, including firefighters, emergency medical services personnel, or law-enforcement officers within its employment, or deputies, appointees, and employees of local constitutional officers, from participating in political activities while these employees are off duty, out of uniform and not on the premises of their employment with the locality.

2. For purposes of this act, the term "political activities" includes, but is not limited to, voting; registering to vote; soliciting votes or endorsements on behalf of a political candidate or political campaign; expressing opinions, privately or publicly, on political subjects and candidates; displaying a political picture, sign, sticker, badge, or button; participating in the activities of, or contributing financially to, a political party, candidate, or campaign or an organization that supports a political candidate or campaign; attending or participating in a political convention, caucus, rally, or other political gathering; initiating, circulating, or signing a political petition; engaging in fund-raising activities for any political party, candidate, or campaign; acting as a recorder, watcher, challenger, or similar officer at the polls on behalf of a political party, candidate, or campaign; or becoming a political candidate.

3. Employees of a State or locality, including firefighters, emergency medical services personnel, law-enforcement officers, and other employees specified above are prohibited from using their official authority to coerce or attempt to coerce a subordinate employee to pay, lend, or contribute anything of value to a political party, candidate, or campaign, or to discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of that person's political affiliations or political activities, except as such affiliation or activity may be established by law as disqualification for employment.

4. Employees of a State or locality, including firefighters, emergency medical services personnel, law-enforcement officers, and other employees specified above are prohibited from discriminating in the provision of public services, including but not limited to firefighting, emergency medical, and law-enforcement services, or responding to requests for such services, on the basis of the political affiliations or political activities of the person or organization for which such services are provided or requested.

5. Employees of a State or locality, including firefighters, emergency medical services personnel, law-enforcement officers, and other employees specified above are prohibited from suggesting or implying that a locality has officially endorsed a political party, candidate, or campaign.

6. No firefighters, emergency medical services personnel, or law-enforcement officers in the Southern Region shall be permitted to strike against the public good.

7. No Regional, State, or local employer shall consider the presence or lack of facial hair, tattoos, or piercings when making hiring decisions.

8. No Regional, State, or local contract for services shall caps the number of apprenticeships used by government contractors other than those caps required under federal law.

9. This act shall take effect immediately.

INFOWARS.COM Act

SECTION I: TITLE
1. This law shall be referred to as the INFOWARS.COM Act.

II: CRUSHING THE NEW WORLD ORDER
1. It shall be expressly prohibited for any flag to be displayed in any southern court, or during any Regional, State, or local administrative hearing, tribunal, or arbitration, if that flag has been adorned by decorative fringe.
2. No State, locality, or utility operating within the Southern Region shall provide drinking water with added fluoride without the express written consent of all water users.
3. This act shall take effect immediately. No lawsuit to enforce the provisions of the law shall be justiciable in any federal or Regional court until 90 days after this law takes effect.

1. No Southern Regional officer or employee, or State or locality in the Southern Region shall prohibit a person who is eligible to carry a firearm in public from carrying an electric stungun onto public property with the following exceptions:
a. Airports, Searports, and International Ports of Entry
b. Jails and Prisons
c. Court Houses and active arbitration hearing rooms
d. Public primary and secondary schools
e. Stadiums and arenas

2. This act shall take effect immediately. No lawsuit to enforce the provisions of the law shall be justiciable in any federal or Regional court until 90 days after this law takes effect.

Boring Legal Stuff Act

1. The creation of any future fee tail estates of land succession is hereby prohibited. Any existing land in the Southern Region held as a fee tail shall be considered a fee simple estate.
2. No civil lawsuit for products liability claims against an aircraft shall be heard in southern courts after 10 years of sale or the life of any accompanying express warranty, whichever is greater.
3. Any land owners shall have a possessory lien and may physically impound cattle owned by another person if the cattle crash through the landowner’s fence, until such time that the cattle owner pays for the damage to the fence and a reasonable impoundment fee.
4. No court in the Southern Region shall recognize a theory of contributory negligence in torts actions.
5. In any southern court where an affirmative defense of self-defense is being offered, the southern court shall apply the common law castle doctrine and the common law stand-your-ground tests.
6. In actions at tort in the Southern Region, a landowner owes no duty of care to an unknown and uninvited trespasser, other than a duty to reasonably protect against children drawn to an attractive nuisance.
7. Any defendant in a southern court shall be entitled to an expedited motion to dismiss against frivolous tort claims based on of mental or emotional distress, mental or emotional anguish, or claims related to endangerment against a business due to that business allowing transgender customers to use the bathroom corresponding to their self-identified gender.
8. This act shall go into effect 6 months after the date of passage.

Be it resolved by the Southern Chamber that the Atlasian Congress should be condemned for its support of the Employee Free Choice Act and the Right to Work Repeal Act, as well as its failure to enact the Commonsense Welfare Reform Act and the Obsolete Programs Sunset Act.

Whereas, members of the Parliament of Fremont has irresponsibly pushed several dumb and dangerous policies,

Be it resolved by the Southern Chamber that those supportive members of the Parliament of Fremont should be condemned for supporting the Resolution on the right to bear arms and the Right to Work Repeal Act, the Fremont Assault Weapons Ban Act, the Resolution supporting Employee Free Choice Act, and the Resolution to tighten federal gun control laws.

the role of Deputy Speaker was abolished as part of a rules change.

I can't give you a role that doesn't exist.
I'd be amenable to a rule change that could create a Deputy Speaker position that serves at the pleasure of the Speaker, and changing nothing else though...

Were the rules actually changed or am I just a less appealing Deputy Speaker candidate than Wulfric?
