Nobody's supporting Manning because it's funny or whatever. We support her because she's one of the best people alive.

Joke candidate is a joke and will meet the same political fate as Brianna Wu come primary time. But if somehow something crazy happens...a convicted felon who gave information to a foreign infoterrorist is not winning a Senate seat. I doubt the Democratic party machine will even get behind her after she wins - she wouldn't caucus with them or cooperate with them in the Senate, and would be a constant political boon for the Republicans.
