Sorry it’s so big, I did this on my phone while I was bored at work.

Anyway:

Progressive Union: 8 seats
Conservative Coalition: 3 seats
Student Senators Whose Politics I Am Unsure Of: 4 seats
Centrist Bloc: 1 seat

I didn't know you went to Uni with Wulfric! Tongue

LOL

This person is a woman, however, and has drunk up the Both Sides Are The Same Kool-Aid.

If you want to know how the school is governed: it’s a grand coalition. The Chairman is a Conservative, but the Vice Chairman and Chair of the powerful Student Affairs Committee are both Progressives. The parliamentarian is a Conservative. The Treasurer was a Conservative, but he resigned last week. His replacement is someone whose politics I can’t quite discern.

The Student Body President and Vice President are both Progressives.

It is until you realize that the entire Student Government is just a bunch of rich kids playing dress up and acting self-important. The Senate is a glorified lobbying body for better food and more on-campus parking. They cannot make any actual decisions.

I should know, I’m one of them.

Yes. Yes it was.

I'm also an admin on our school's meme page, so there was plenty of moderating that had to be done over racist/islamophobic/antisemitic memes. Fun times!

In 1272, King Stephen III Corela, of the Clan of Halamand, died after a bout of pleurisy and possibly plague. His son, Victor Mazur of Halamand, inherited his crown but was too young to rule, being only eight. The Queen Dowager and Victor's mother Sedett Corshom established a regency to rule in Victor's stead until he turned 17. However, many nobles were suspicious of Corshom and believed her to be overly ambitious and conniving. While these suspicions were largely unfounded and the result of courtly intrigue, they were powerful enough to oust her in 1273. Her ouster was powerful noblewoman Melina Carmon, wife of the military leader Alexander Gurcen. In her own right, Carmon served briefly as Regent of Gena during the winter of 1263 to 1264 when Stephen Corela waged war on the Coravites. From 1266 until 1272, she was the prestigious cupbearer to the King, her duty to present to him the Holy Ale at every court holiday.

Previously locked in a stalemate in the council, Carmon convinced royal and Corshom-supporter Duke Vamaro to switch sides, promising to give the regency a more stable ruler, thus giving the Cupbearer the plurality in the council. However, they still had to deal with anti-Regents, councillors who wanted to overthrow the regency altogether. In January of 1273, Carmon managed to peel away Councillor Hasouel by effectively bribing him via assuring him a position as her advisor in the new regency. Now, they had the bare majority to pass a vote dissolving the Corshomite Regency, which they did on March 21, 1273. On March 22, all but two of Queen Dowager Corshom's most ardent supporters (Dimenelli Halamand and Arnaulde Semell) voted Melina Carmon as the newest Regent. Carmon would rule as Regent until 1281, when Victor Mazur turned 17. From 1273, Sedett Corshom remained in politics as Queen Dowager and received an impressive salary until her death in 1311.

The overthrow of Corshom was non-violent, but was still unprecedented, as no council has ever voted a regent to be unfit to lead a regency.

Kingdom of Gena - Royal Council - 1273

Carmonite Faction - Loyal to Councillor Melina Carmon
Councillor Melina Carmon
Councillor Michal Avhell
Councillor Sherash Vanera
Duke-Councillor Vamaro Letei Halamand
Councillor Stephen Hasouel

Corshomite Faction - Loyal to Queen Dowager and Regentess Sedett Corshom
Councillor Arnaulde Semell
Councillor Fadririco Athevel
Councillor Dimenelli Halamand

Mazurites - Loyal to King Victor Mazur, whom wish to abolish the regency all together
Councillor-Lady Cambon Devensi
Councillor William Koylgue
Councillor Fadash Ulym Qiulat

American parliament, after the 2016 election

Though Labor remained the largest and most-supported party, new leader Hillary Rodham Clinton (wife of former House Speaker Bill Clinton) could not keep Obama's coalition together. Indeed, the rise of the Socialists under former Labor MP Bernie Sanders cut deeply into solid Labor territories. The Conservatives, too, suffered blows at the hands of the right-wing populists with TRUMP. The Democrats also surged, with the support of TRUMP. The Center Party and Progressive Republicans suffered the worst defeats in their history.

Labor (leader: Hillary Rodham Clinton - Westchester): 169 seats
Conservative Party (leader: Paul Ryan - Janesville): 117 seats (coalition with TRUMP and Democrats)
Traditional, Radical, United Movement of Patriots (leader: Donald J. Trump - Staten Island): 101 seats
Democratic Party (leader: Jeff Sessions - Camden): 83 seats (coalition with TRUMP and Conservatives)
Socialist Party (leader: Bernie Sanders - Burlington): 49 seats
Progressive Republicans (leader: Susan Collins - Caribou): 12 seats
Center Party (leader: Heidi Heitkamp - Morton): 7 seats

God damn that timeline Tongue

I'd love to see a possible constituency map though.  If you had the time that'd be amazing to see, maybe like 436 Constituencies and 102 PR seats?

What if the Spanish Senate was elected by autonomous community instead of by province (4 by community, block voting in a 3-1 ratio), but keeping the appointed senators

EH Bildu: 1
Podemos: 17
ERC: 3
PSOE: 31
PDECat: 2
PNV: 2
CC: 1
Cs: 3
PP: 68

Total: 128

Still a PP majority, but narrower than now. 68/128 (53%) instead of the current 149/266 seats (56%). Those tiny provinces with low population but high representation help PP a bit.

I decided to make a 1992 Election Legislature based off of MAINEiac's American Parliament World, I assume it's very alternate to what 1992 actually was.

1992 American Parliamentary Election

Reform Party:  Center-Populism, Leader:  Henry Ross Perot (Texarkana), 283 Seats
Labor Party:  Center to Center-Left, Leader:  William Jefferson Clinton (Little Rock), 146 Seats
Conservative Party:  Center-Right, Leader:  George Herbert Walker Bush (Houston-Meadows Place), 109 Seats
