Take the 2008 county map and significantly reduce the Republican margins in the Upstate (or even flip one or more of these counties).

That alone isn't enough - other major counties in that area must also flip.

Better performances in the coastal counties, flipping demographically close rural counties and making inroads in Spartanburg and other suburban areas in the west.
