How have so many people already been to so much of the country within only two weeks? Are you all millionaires who go on soirees regularly throughout the year?
Um. I visited my family a state and cheapish flight away and went around the area some. Then I went down to Orange County on the weekend. That's hardly unusual or affluent. Most people travel, and New Years is a popular time to do so. People just have different tastes and monetary priorities.

I’ll update this as the year goes on. Going to hit quite a few in the Pacific Northwest when I visit colleges this spring.

Poland isn't exactly large, you know.

It's bigger than Minnesota, and it would take me a pretty damn long time to visit every county in Minnesota.

For 2018:

Hennepin, MN (Home)
Dakota, MN (Work)
Ramsey, MN
Washington, MN
Anoka, MN
Chisago, MN

The last three were all on New Year's Day as part of an Ingress trip around the metro I was taking with a visitor from Chicago.

I drove to visit family in Pensacola FL last week with an overnight stay in Clarksville TN. On the way I visited the Lincoln Boyhood NM in southern Indiana and drove part of the Natchez Trace Parkway to see Jackson Falls and the Meriwether Lewis burial site.

I returned this week by way of an overnight stay in Oxford MS. I visited the Mississippi Armed Forces Museum at Camp Shelby on the way.

Including home I was in 97 counties, 42 for the first time in 2018. Here's the map with red and pink showing first time counties.

Kings County, CA
Fresno County, CA

Update 1: only going to count counties I’ve walked in (as opposed to driving) because I don’t want to take the time to research which highways go where.

In Fresno at a Y&G conference. Stopped at a creepy liquor store in Kings for lunch on the way up.

True, but notice Polish counties are usually smaller than American ones. The Masovian Voivodeship (state equivalent) alone has 37 counties. And Masovia area is mere 35 558,47 km².

There's a tool at mob-rule.com that let's you plot a trip using Google maps and its county overlay. You put in a list of cities on a trip and it computes the route. There's an analysis button that then gives you the counties on the route.

I was in 4 CA counties this weekend: Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside and San Bernardino. That makes 101 so far this year, 45 for the first time.

Reasonable chance that could be it for the year, or at least for a couple months now.

Travels in IL since late January have taken me to a number of counties. Here's my current map for 2018 with 117 total counties (green/blue if overnight), 45 for the first time (magenta/red if overnight).

I'll be adding a lot to this when I go down to Texas for my cousin's wedding in June.
