Here's a question; since we have two people each for three parties so far, are you going to collaborate or challenge the other person for the leadership of the party?

Socialists - GoTFan and Chris Murphy 2020

Nationals - Cactus and Yankee

New Alliancites - Diptheriadan and wxtransit

Collaborate. 24 is way too young to be a party leader.

With all due respect to Mr. Merrill, MP Morgan will be issuing a leadership challenge.

What party would best fit a left-winged populist who supports feminism but does not support Marxist-Leninism and Anti-Americanism?

The socialist party seems to be a good fit but I know there are already two members in the socialist party.

Due to the fact that the party needs new leadership to win in the next election, I have decided to reverse my decision to stand for re-election as Leader of the New Alliance Party. I will not be running for re-election.

Join the Socialist Party, we’re gonna win.

(you could also create your own party)

Violet Gardner
Leader of the Republican Party, MP for Sunderland East

Name: Violet Marie Gardner, née Winter
Birth: January 20, 1973 (age 45)
Party: Republican
Family: Edward Gardner (husband), Lily Gardner (daughter)
Seat: Sunderland East
Occupation: Journalist

Violet Gardner was born Violet Marie Winter, the daughter of a middle class family from Sunderland. Born close to the end of Admiral Blakelee's regime, her father, history professor Andrew Winter (staunch supporter of Chairwoman Hedrock and the moderate elements within the Transnational Government) instilled a deep interest in politics on his young daughter since she was little, allowing Violet Winter to try and make sense of the turbulent 1980's and 1990's in Lamarna on her own terms and with her own beliefs. Studying to become a journalist to cover the topics that had interested her father so much, Winter began to form a set of firm political views on account of her experiences travelling across Lamarna and the Pacific. She also met her husband, businesssman Edward Gardner on one of such journalistic trips, eventually marrying him and giving birth to her daughter Lily on 2000. Despite an accomplished career writing for one of the biggest newspapers in Lamarna, she soon felt the need to participate herself on politics, and joined the Republican Party after 2005. Running for Parliament and winning the seat of Sunderland East in 2011. Fighting her way into becoming a rising star in the party, Mrs. Gardner ran as a darkhorse candidate for the party leadership on early 2017, winning a surprise victory to lead the Republican Party on her first election as party leader.

Political positions:

Economics: Gardner considers herself a staunch economic liberal, favoring free-market solutions, low taxation and responsible spending as the key to a strong economy (while remaining critical of full-blown neoliberalism as too extreme for her taste). She authored the "Yellow Book" alongside two fellow pro-free market Republican MPs, championing (among other policies) economic liberalism as the guiding light of the Republican Party on economics.

Government: Convinced of the benefits of small, decentralized government as the key to preventing another dictatorship or civil war to ever happen again in Lamarna, Gardner is enthusiastic about her belief to cut down the bureaucracy, and increase the power of local governments across the nation through increased devolution of power and autonomy on several key domestic issues.

Foreign Policy: A committed internationalist who is nonetheless wary of the role played by China and the United States as world powers in Oceania, Gardner counts herself among those who not only believe Lamarna ought to be constantly engaged with foreign affairs, but also among those who dream of achieving the goal of an federal "Oceanic Union" so the different peoples of Oceania and the Pacific can combine their political, social, cultural and economic influence to their collective benefit. Gardner, however, stops short of being part of the pro-OU old guard, asserting that such a union could only be created through binding referendums and with the consent of the people.

Refugees/Immigration: Gardner has been a constant critic of the Duterte regime in the Philippines, often denouncing the Filipino President before reporters whenever news arrive of human rights violations or controversial decisions by the government. As such, Gardner strongly supports giving political asylum to the Filipino refugees, while arguing the solution is not to be found on permanent residence by rather on applying enough international pressure to force Duterte to resign. On a general sense and regarding immigration, Gardner is on the more conservative wing of her party as, while passionately arguing for the benefits of legal immigration and its expansion, she criticizes illegal immigration as breaking the laws of Lamarna.

Health Care: Taking good care of always singing the praises of the public healthcare, Gardner is nonetheless an enthusiast of private healthare as an ideal alternative to help the public system and "shoulder the load", arguing to expand the participation of the private sector particularly on rural areas where the national government has been less successful in terms of coverage and quality.

Social Policy: In line with the self-proclaimed "Liberalism" of the Republican Party Gardner identifies as a social-liberal, significantly influenced by her background as an agnostic. As a result, she supports policies such as repealing the ban on same-sex marriage and allowing its legalization.

Energy/Environmentalism: Considering the Republican "bright green environmentalism" as one of the party policies that make the more sense to her, Gardner strongly supports the idea of techologic advance and achievement as compatible with taking care of the environment. As a result, she strongly opposes the exploitation of energy reserves in protected ecosystems, arguing Lamarna can reach energy independence through renewable energy without having to resort to fosil fuels. She is also in favor of tough laws regarding environmental protection.

I'm not sure, I myself find green politics to be somewhat useless as more liberal stances cover most green politics stances. If there is a lot of division is the socialist party and not a lot of other parties have members I may have my candidate switch parties. Not sure as of yet.

Lei Thompson
Leader of the Ocean and Sky Party, MP for Winter Park

"What can I say? I'm just here to help." -Lei, upon being elected to Parliament.

Name: Lei Vailea Thompson
DOB: March 22nd, 1988 (30 years old)
Party: Ocean and Sky
Family: Boyfriend - Michael Harris
Seat: Winter Park
Occupation: Actress and Social Activist

Born to a poor family who barely crossed the upper poverty line, Lei Thompson grew up in the A’Kapui area. Although she was born long after the Blakelee regime ended, the struggles her parents endured greatly affect her to this day. Her father was often discriminated against due to his European descent, although he has Lamarnan descent, and her mother came from a poverty stricken family with African and Asian descent. Lei had used the stories her parents told her to inspire an interest in politics.
However, she put this interest aside to pursue a career in acting. As soon as she graduated high school, Lei began booking small roles in commercials, which furthered her career into local Lamarnan television. Her recurring role in the Lamarnan adaptation of Law and Order: SVU sparked her local fame and gave her the opportunity to appear in the American film Psycho (2015), the remake of the 1960 film.
These appearances boosted her celebrity status in Lamarna. With a few film appearances under her belt, and other business ventures in the fashion industry, Lei Thompson has come far from being a poor girl in the A’Kapui district. Coming back from America, Lei moved to Winter Park in late 2015, and had decided to raise interest in local politics. Using her status to bring awareness of social rights and governmental issues, as well as bring up concern about poverty issues. In mid 2016, Thompson was elected to parliament in a by-election and remained a loud voice for the Socialist party. However, with the upcoming election, Lei decided to switch to the Ocean and Sky party in order to enforce their ecofriendly and social issues. She was gladly accepted as the new leader of the party.

Political Positions:
Social Issues: Left winged. Lei has had a very strong public opinion on social issues. She was a proud donor for LGBTEENS and was one of the first Lamarnan celebrities to endorse the organization. Lei Thompson has also had a strong public opinion of feminism and equal pay movements. She has publicly endorsed many anti-discrimination organizations as well. The actresses has hinted as being pro-choice but has never publicly expressed her belief.

Economic Issues (Healthcare and Poverty)Sad Left winged. She has publicly endorsed social security and believes rich elites and celebrities should be taxed more. She supports universal healthcare and public programs to help reduce poverty in the southern islands.

Immigration and Refugees: Center to Left winged. She has stated that asylum should be given to immigrants and refugees, and has acknowledged that an easier path should be created for Lamarnan citizenship. However, she has explained that action needs to be taken quickly to accommodate for this immigration surplus before a crisis emerges.

Energy: Left winged. Lei Thompson has stated that there is a current global crises when it comes to energy and has called for the change from non-renewable fossil fuels to a safer renewable energy. She has strong stances for anti-pollution and eco-friendly tactics.

Military: Center to Left winged. While both of her parents are anti-militaristic due to the Blakelee regime, Lei believes some military is needed in order to protect Lamarna from any possible threats. She does believe that the military budget should be lowered however and that a strong relationship with NATO and the United States will be good.

I was hoping for at least a person for each party, but I guess that’s a bit too much. I’m thinking sign-ups will be open for 4-5 more people.

We Want a Future
The Transcript from Lei Thompson’s announcement earlier today.

Fifty percent. Fifty percent of all species of animals and plants that live on land could face extinction in the next thirty years. The World Resources Institution has stated that a hundred, let me repeat that, a hundred species of animals die every single day due to tropical deforestation. That means that over thirty six thousand species of animals go extinct each and every year. That is just disgusting. That is beyond disgusting. Why are we not actively pursuing a way to stop this? Why is this not being brought up in parliament? Mass extinction of terrestrial life isn’t the only problem we face today. Energy is an unfortunately hot topic in the political climate today, but at least it is being discussed. We are on the brisk of an energy crisis. Fossil fuels are a nonrenewable resource formed millions of years ago, and at our current rate, will cease to exist in the next one hundred years. However, even with clear evidence that we need to switch to a cleaner energy source, people are still calling for the exploitation of natural gases in protected marine ecosystems. People still believe climate change is a theory. People are not urgently focusing on our environment. Don’t even get me started on pollution. We do not have a second Earth. The actions we are taking now will have a permanent effect on the world for generations to come.

In 1991, Tina Beutler ran as the first leader of the Samē u Lagē - Ocean and Sky party. She brought important topics such as green energy and feminism to the forefront of the political climate. She won twelve seats. We have since forgotten about how important this topic is. The Ocean and Sky party has been pushed to the side of the political climate. So, with the coming election, in a move comparable to John Smith and the conservatives party, I have decided to run as leader of the Ocean and Sky party. They have fortunately welcomed me with open arms, and I am excited to push their agenda further.

Cheers.

With that said, I have been a proud member of the socialist party for the past few years. Anthony Milton is an amazing leader for the socialist party and I wish him the best in the future. I have actively backed him on the majority of his decisions, and I was even a donor for LGBTEENS long before either of us were in parliament. I am as excited as ever to work with the socialist party in the future, as I can do more left-wing pushing from the Ocean and Sky party than I can from within Socialist party. This isn’t a divisive decision, I still fully support the socialist party an am excited to bring forward important topics of our environment and social issues. Our focus right now is a multi-partisan left-winged government.

So, if what I am saying hasn’t moved you enough, please turn to your son or your daughter. Turn to your husband or wife, or your brother or sister. Turn to someone you care for. At the rate we are going, they will not have a world to enjoy the future on. They will have an inhabitable world littered in smoke and trash. If you want a future for the ones you love, I am asking you to support the Ocean and Sky party in this upcoming election. May our country go on the correct path and support left-winged movements. Thank you all! May God bless Winter Park and all of Lamarna!

Statement from Anthony Milton
Lei Thompson’s decision today moves us one step closer to a left-wing government. Lei is my good friend, and part of me selfishly would like her to remain with the Socialists. At the same time, I understand her reasoning. She is a credit to Ocean and Sky, and she remains an ally in our parties’ fight for environmental, economic and social justice. I look forward to working with her to achieve those goals. I cannot pretend part of me isn’t disappointed. But I know that this decision will strengthen Ocean and Sky, and therefore the multipartisan left-wing movement in Lamarna.

Reporter: Will there be a Socialist candidate in Winter Park?

Absolutely not. I see Ocean and Sky as a future coalition partner in a Socialist-led government. We will not undermine their leader. Lei retains full confidence and support of the Socialist Party.
