Young Sheldon vs The Big Bang Theory

I prefer Young Sheldon.

IMHO, they're both just regular (dare I say it) American sitcoms that require no thinking and need a laugh track to be funny (but this seems to be the problem with most American shows). There are way better shows out there. I generally try to avoid most shows made by the main networks, however, there are a few diamonds in the rough out there.

BBT is better, but Silicon Valley is a much better portrayal of nerd culture.  BBT is what mainstream Hollywood TV writers think nerds are.  (or possibly what CBS viewers think nerds are and the writers are just giving them what they want...but I doubt it, and if that is true, it's only because CBS viewer only knows about nerds from other mainstream TV shows.)  Young Sheldon is just weird (I only saw the first two episodes).

The only people I know who like to watch Big Bang Theory are science geeks.

Both are good shows, I prefer the BBT but both are completely different.

I also get really amused at people that absolutely hate either show who just can't accept that some people like it and feel it's their mission to complain about it on any type of post about the show and act like a TV show of all things staying on the air that they don't like is a personal offense they can't live with.

I noticed something interesting about Ann Richards. Is it possible that she is the role model for Constance, Sheldon Cooper's meemaw? They don't look like twins, but they do look similar, and they both have the clothing style. After I read Richards' Wiki article, I was reminded of Meemaw; they both have a loudmouth character and a cheeky, libertine attitude. Moreover, the actress's first name is similar to the former governor's.
What do you think?


By the way, for Old Meemaw, the producer ought to have cast Betty White.
