I think transsexuals are screwed up myself personally (I don't hold the same opinion toward them as I do to homosexuals, who I don't consider there to be anything wrong with in any way), but they can do what they want to do. I think rap "music" is also screwed up, but people can listen to it.

And as I would vote for a rap loving Democrat over any Republican, the same is true for a transsexual Democrat.

A transsexual is somebody who's had the surgery.  A transvestite is somebody who cross-dresses.

Think of it like Latin - "trans vest" literally means "cross dress".  "Trans sex" more or less means "change sex".

Well, with all due respect to transsexuals, I would probably be more comfortable around a transvestite anyhow (since I know a couple of them), but I still don't really care if someone changes his/her gender surgically. Sometimes people just don't feel like they are supposed to be whatever their original gender was, and they are a lot happier after getting a gender change.

I've actually known some transgender people; I really can't tell.  If their contsituency is cool with it, so am I.

Run a poll Casey on how many people think it's normal to lop off your dick and grow breasts (off forum because we have alot of pyschos here). Possibly 20% will think it's normal, though that's how many support unfettered access to any type of abortion.

I don't think they are normal, but I wouldn't compare them to child rapists.

I have this silly way of deciding who I vote for...

I pick the candidate that supports the things I believe in and opposes the things I am against.

I'd vote for a free market, low tax, small government transsexual martian with 3 eyes and purple skin before I voted for a big governnment, high tax white male, for example.

It's also not normal to lop off your fingers, but if you're born with polydatcylism it's the only way to correct it.

Some people are born with a female brain and male genitals.  That is not a normal condition, but altering the body to match the brain is the only way for these individuals to become happy and comfortable with their bodies.

How would you feel if you suddenly woke up, found yourself with a female body, but still knew that you were really a man.  What would you do?  No, on second thought, don't answer that...
