Gentlemen, I'm stuck. Classes begin today, probably work will begin soon as well and while I can keep some of my obligations in Atlas I am a bit pressed with this particular game (chances are I could get a turn up after class, but not guaranteed).

I'll continue hosting for the time being, but I think I wouldn't do a fine job with the game in present conditions, and this deserves a more active GM willing to react faster. So I leave the question open, would anyone be interested in taking over this game in the coming days? (and of course, would the players object to a given volunteer?)

While I've enjoyed it, it's gotten so far outside the realm of possibility (mostly with the GOP) that I could see it ending. I will continue to play if it's continued, to be clear, but I wouldn't shed a tear if it came to a close.

Not going to lie, this is also an issue. I like to the keep the games somewhat plausible ("Fear and Loathing in 72'", while having wild and unlikely twists, was still a recognizable reality), and I've been at a loss on how to properly simulate the GOP (and the Democrats too to some extent) following so many departures and entries. Not being from the US, it's not exactly easy to do extensive research on some politicians or celebrities I hadn't heard about either.

While I'd say recruit NHI, I doubt he'd be interested. So, maybe the right thing to do is give it it a mercy killing.

Maybe it could be a 2000 Election Game, as I think that one would be far better to play than a 2004 or 2008 Election game. Even a bit more than a 2016 one as well.

A 2020 or 2024 one?

I like the way this game is going. Plus, if we end this game around or near the summer, we can create a new simulation game, presumably with more active players since people on this board typically have more time on school breaks.

Having pondered on the current situation, I've decided indeed on ending the game. While I had hoped to learn from my 1972 Game and build on an even better one, it seems I didn't learn the right lessons, and as the simulation soon moved away from a more plausible scenario my skills as a GM suffered significantly from it. Constant departures which shifted the scenario too dramatically also took their toll.

So my sincere apologies to the players, and my thanks to them for playing. I hope the game was at least fun for all of you. I don't think I'll have the time to host an Election Game for a very, very long time, should it ever be possible again, it is likely I'll make substantial changes to the Gameplay, and stick to a particular time period in which I think I have a better grasp on.

I might make a 2008 game if that's what you're looking for.

If you do I might not do the 2000 since I don't want too many games at once

I might be interested in making a 2012/2016 game, but I'll see what the next days hold for me before I'll decide. Also, I don't want to oversaturate the board with the same type of game.

I would've chosen someone that's pretty good at leading... Maybe Bill Nelson or Jerry Brown
