Thanks. Too many wonks think the solution to education is mandating smaller class sizes. In poorer rural areas they very often can't even maintain current class sizes due to lack of teachers interested in moving in. At my mom's title I school this year, her class went from 22 to 30 in 4 months because a teacher left mid year and with no applicants the only thing they could do was divide up that class amongst the 3 remaining teachers. If you want smaller class sizes in failing schools, you have to incentivize teachers wanting to work there in the first place. Otherwise you are just punishing victims of circumstance.
