Playing around with the greatest state in the US:

2016 margins but 25% more in favor of Clinton

Same thing but it favors Trump

A moderate independent candidate wins close counties

The independent candidate does even better

A look at how Evan McMullin did here

If Trump dropped out (lol) and it was McMuffin (% map, not margin)

Same thing but Virginia:

New Mexico:

If the Democratic base was like wtf is Hillary and screwed over their chances of winning 2016 (California)

Wisconsin

Florida

Georgia

Iowa

New Mexico

New York

what have i done

If McCaskill was winning that many Counties, she would be winning overall by a more than narrow margin.
Looks like a decent 10 point margin or something.

2000 Election if McCain was the GOP nomination instead of Bush. Gore wins very narrowly and performs better in St Louis and Clay County.

That at least has to be a 15% margin for Democrats

It's similar to the map of 2000 in Missouri but Gore also wins St. Charlie, Iron, Plattes and Bush wins very narrowly wins Ray County

Those 10 Counties all have something in common, they were colored green for that reason.

This is a minor obsession of mine, so I'll go first with this:

What Trump vs Sanders would've looked like based solely on polls.

Freedom Map.

Swinging very hard against their states?

No; hint: this has something to do with 2012 (I probably made it way too obvious with this hint)

The 2018 North Dakota Senate Race seemed competitive to begin with, but a backlash against the trade war and Cramer's controversial comments in October ultimately let incumbent Senator Heidi Heitkampf win a landslide re-election.

A county map for a Northern Republicans / Southern Democrats scenario (originally posted to AH.com, which is why the colors are flipped). What candidates do you think would produce this result?
