What if Trump who throughout his career wanted to be president decided to run in the Democratic primaries in 2008 in either a no Obama 2008 or a no Edwards 2008 or still with them all.

Does in any of these scenarios he gets to be he nominee and does he beat John McCain?

Clinton would've crushed him in the Democratic primary, but if he had won, he would've beaten McCain just like any other generic Democrat would've in '08.

The best scenario I think is No Obama or Edwards in 2008.

Let's say his economic policy is more left populist. Basically Bernie Sanders but it's not too extreme.

Could he possibly still make Indiana, Montana and Missouri a toss up plus maybe adding West Virginia?

I'd say its more likely Clinton doesn't run, considering Trump and Clinton were allies in 2008.

I feel Trump would be better than Obama in the Rust Belt.

And a Democratic Trump in 2008 would be perfect timing

Trump wins Kentucky away from McCain, but McCain gains Indiana away from Obama? With Bayh on the ticket?

I would flip IN on that map not VA, as VA is a state that usually populists have a hard time winning in
