Obviously I have major issues with any polling outfit called "America First", let alone any politician that try to use that as their campaign slogan....
My Grandfather did not fight in the Battlefields of France and Germany during WW II, including serving with honor and dignity at the Battle of the Bulge, serving years as part of the American Occupation Army in Germany after the War, to defeat the Nazis and Fascists only to see "America First" rise once again to the scene...
The whole "America First" slogan dates way back to the early '30s in America, and was essentially a quasi Italian Fascist style slogan, where leading Industrialists were trying to make peace with the Nazis and Fascists, to sign a deal with the reactionary political revolutions in Europe caused by extreme poverty and resentment in Germany and Italy, as a result of the post WW I settlements that had been imposed upon them by France & England.
Here is a song that talks about that from the era which I believe is copyright free and legit....
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_k83WArW5XUTo the poll at hand, it looks like despite the murky cross-tabs (Where are they?) and sketchy sourcing, to essentially be an outfit that is fundamentally motivated more by Trump style polling than anything else....
I think we can treat this an "Internal Partisan Poll of 'Bama", where it is more a measure of the chances of Moore actually winning this s**t, compared and contrasted against Trump's approval ratings in the State, than anything else....
Let's face it the election in Alabama, despite the nationalization of the election and various Trump Tweets, has a lot more to do with the voters of Alabama that actually in many places view this as more a localized election, despite their tendencies to vote 'Pub for the Team, in a state where Trump still narrowly holds onto 51% approval ratings....
Doug Jones is a good Man, a Christian Man who believes in God, Law & Order, 2nd Amendment Rights, and has long been a supporter and advocate of the Poor and dispossessed within Alabama...
Although I have no idea of the outcome of this election, "America First" is likely calling the election like it is, an essential tossup with a slight Republican lean (Despite Moore's moral failures and behavior) and are trying to figure out to use an old Poker term, if "they are going to throw good money after bad"....
To Trump's credit, he didn't back the creep... that was Bannon. Moore won by only 7% against Strange in the 'Pub primaries, so Trump doesn't have tons of motivation to Nationalize the 'Bama Senate Election, despite the obvious partisan angles....
There are obviously a ton of Trump > Jones crossover voters in 'Bama, many of whom haven't voted Dem since Al Gore.
Side Note: I like the fact that this internal poll actually included landline, cell phone, and Internet users, which makes a welcome addition to the data set, regardless of the motivations of Trump's "America First" polling outfit....
