I bet Republicans would do a lot better with the black vote than usual, since Scott is black and Bernie is not liked by black voters.

He won young Black voters. NBC reported he won young Black voters by 52 percent. Hillary dominated the older Black vote, though, so he wasn't able to make much ground up.

People need to get over the belief that Black voters will vote for a Black candidate because they're Black. Ask Donna Edwards. And there is a distrust among Black voters regarding Black Republicans. Herman Cain and Ben Carson were unable to gain any traction at all among Black voters and were roasted in Black media and social media. Also, Tim Scott struggles with Black voters in his own state. Nobody candidates dominated the Black vote against him in 2014 and 2016.

Will the deplorables vote for a black person, no matter his political positions? Many fake Democrats voted for Bernard because of his white maleness over Hillary Clinton, who just happened to be a accomplished women. The whiteness of states like Wisconsin and Iowa will help Bernard secure a victory, as much as it pains me to say.

If you care about the health and growth of the Democratic Party, then you probably shouldn't make such sweeping judgments against its future considering Bernie won young people of all demographics, including young women and young Black people.

You would consider Democrats in West Virginia and Oklahoma to be representative of the party? Those were states that went heavily for Bernie, both majority white and conservative states. The Bernie coalition is going to collapse as his people just happened to be the people who were radicals in college only to be Republican when they start playing taxes.

He won the young everywhere. He made significant inroads among young non-white people, especially women, across the country and won young Black and young Latino voters (even in places she won, like California and New York. It's what helped him last so long since delegates are awarded proportionately)  over Hillary and he ran circles around Hillary with the young female vote. Hillary lost West Virginia and Oklahoma because of her quotes about mining and extraction. Trying to blame Bernie's success on racism and sexism is shooting the party in the head. Young people love him and if you want the party to exist after Hillary's baby boomer fans die off, you need to come to terms with that. The Republican tax plan is just going to make the Sanders-Warren wing even stronger and others in the party know that, hence Gillibrand throwing Bill Clinton to the wolves, Warren calling the primary rigged and Tammy Baldwin calling it unfair, and Kamala Harris signing on to just about everything Sanders proposes. They know where the party is going.

Schumer elevating Bernie to a leadership role in the Senate after the election was a big sign.

Most Bernie supporters would back Elizabeth Warren, so there goes the sexism argument.

A lot of us also like Nina Turner and Tulsi Gabbard. Go figure.
You support homophobic Assad apologists? Ew.

To be fair, Tulsi Gabbard came out in support of same-sex marriage before Hillary Clinton did, and has co-sponsored and supported pro-LGBT legislation like the repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act and the Employment Non-Discrimination Act. But yeah, the Assad thing is messed up.
