The Cars are a very well received group from the late 70's and early 80's. It's rare for a group to be both critically and commercially adored, but this group pulled it off.

This New Wave outfit was among the first to become famous, and they have influenced their followers. While the band is held in high regard, they never seem to be liked enough amongst the voters.

But are they well liked enough among The Atlas?

As a side note, Ric Ocasek is one ugly dude.

Ric Ocasek was one lucky dude to get Paulina Porizkova to marry him. Her '84 SI swimsuit issue cover was a dawn for me. The first of those issues I kept.... And that skinny guy from the Cars??! At least Carol Alt was with a hockey player.

As a band the song from the Phoebe Cates swimming pool scene from Fast Times is Ok but their other radio hits are tame and way to American Clear Channel corporate radio territory for me. A slight step up from REO & Night Ranger but only just barely.
