I cannot wait into the Latino gangs spread into suburban Connecticut. Then you'll see how very wrong you are.

The hispanic gangs around here usually stay away from white people.

The Salvadorian gang that killed the guy in Lynbrook last year didn't.

Good point.  New York should have a working death penalty for people like that.

That's one out of hundreds of thousands of people.  Black gangs I think pose more of a violence problem, just a hunch, at least for now.  Hispanics need the money more badly, and they stay in fields (IE: drugs) that get them money while dealing with their own race.

MS-13 or Mara Salvatrucha is becoming a force on L.I. and Hempstead in particular.  They are quickly taking over the drug trade in Nassau and are very violent.  Their violence is most frequently directed at their own community, but this does not mean we should turn a blind eye toward it.  The majority of the immigrant community is law abiding (even the illegals barring their actual entry), however the surging gang threat must be dealt with before it gets completely out of control.  These gang members should be quickly rounded up and deported to their native lands the moment they serve their sentences for their crimes.  I support many of the hardworking immigrants and even worked as a citizenship tutor. However, the massive tide of illegal immigrants is too much for our infrastucture to support. Their is the further problem of seas of young day laborers milling about looking for work.  Often they create massive amounts of trash and can harass young women who happen to walk past the gaunlet.  Job hiring  sites have to be created to fix this problem.

I think I might have actually had one encounter with a Latin gang. A couple months ago I was just leaving a strip club when in the alley there was 5 guys speaking Spanish dressed like how gangs often dress heading to the strip club. One of them (obviously at least slightly drunk) called out to me something like "YOU MAN, DO THEY GOT FINE ASS BITCHES IN THERE? " I just said yeah, there was some really hot strippers in there and then he said something like "F'UCK YEAH MAN! COOL" Then they just kept heading in that direction while I moved away.

No problems to me at all.

For the record, illegal immigrants might be an issue in my area. I see people speaking Spanish at the mall all the time, of course I don't know if they're legal or not. However some counties in southern Minnesota, including neighboring Watowan county, have had rapid growth of immigrants due to big farming corporations hiring them to work on their giant farms and busing them up from down south. How many are legal and how many are not I do not know, but it is fairly established that Latin gangs control most of the drug trade in southern Minnesota. I don't care though because they mostly only deal drugs and don't bother non-gang members.

patrick, deporting them right away saves the state the money of having to pay for them while they are serving sentences in jail.  Many illegals probably would prefer prison to going back to the homeland as in prison they get a bed, a roof, food, etc., things they could be not be guaranteed if they were back in Haiti or Guatemala or wherever.

You know you are right.  I was thinking along the lines of being punished for the crimes they have commited, but it is probably better to send them back to an uncertain and perhaps deadly future back home than to a prison where they can recruit some more like minded members.

BRTD,  talking to some dudes about a strippers' chest is not an example of a "run-in" with a Latin gang.  Visiting your friend in his hospital bed after he has been jumped by one might change your tune a bit.  There are many reason why people should be concerned about illegal immigration besides the violence.  It is a tremendous burden on the tax base and services of a community. The illegals are draining services from citizens who need them and raising property taxes for the people who support these stressed resources.

None has ever assaulted anyone in my city though. Drunk frat boys are all you have to worry about there. Since they make up less than .1% of my city for sure as well too so it's hardly an effect on community, plus it'd make far more sense to whine about the Somalis on that but I don't mind them either. At the end the of the day all they do is fill jobs that no one who already lives here will do, so I don't feel threatened by them at all. The Greeks and their stupidity are a far bigger nuisance, although they do have some nice parties.

The quality of life issues that people complain immigration causes have more to do with our laissez faire Hoover-ite Government, suburban sprawl and car-dependent society. I'm only opposed to the first of those 3 things.

Laissez-faire Hoover-ite? Nice contradiction in terms. Your ignorance of history is pathetic.

Well said Pym Fortunyn!  The US would be a hellhole with or without some Latin immigration.

As for you philip, philip, your post has nothing to do with the point Pym made.  Why don't you actually try making an argument - such as defidning the laissez-faire, sprawled, car dependent hellhole we all call home?

I don't know how Phillip can "defidn" this "hellhole" that you created. What the hell is "defidn"?

btw, WHY do you call them "latins"? in that case, the Spanish, French, Portuguese, Quebecois, Italians, etc SHOULD be considered Latins too.

Yes, I'm not surprised that you cannot make any argument in defense of this shoddy unlivable land.  Better for you not to try - you know your own limitations and the difficulty of the task!

Option 3.  I'm for open borders, for what it's worth, but it's not a major issue to me.  (Then again, I'm not from a state with major immigration problems.)

Since the United States is such a hellhole, you may as well go back home to Mexico where you'll have so many oppurtunities to do well.

Geez dude, it's just a saying.  It's a simple, manmade constuct of generalizing a culture.  "latin" is anything south (in America) of the United States.  There's really no use bitching about PC terms like you always do.
