How would you personally rank these potential 2020 candidates, based solely on your liking of their policy and demeanor (not electability). So not who you would necessarily vote for, but who you like the most ideologically.

  • B. Sanders
  • J. Biden
  • E. Warren
  • K. Harris
  • T. Gabbard
  • S. Brown
  • C. Booker
  • K. Gillibrand
  • A. Klobuchar
  • A. Cuomo
  • S. Moulton
  • T. Ryan
  • T. Baldwin

My personal list:

1. Baldwin
2. Warren

3. Harris
4. Brown
5. Sanders

6. Gillibrand
7. Biden
8. Moulton
9. Ryan

10. Booker
11. Klobuchar
12. Cuomo

13. Gabbard

Republicans are welcome to do this as well; I'm curious who they like the most out of this field.

I am listing it from electability, because I try to stay ambiguous with my own views.

S. Brown: As trivial as it should be, his gravelly voice could be a big factor. He would be very strong on paper, especially if a Democrat wins the governor's race. He seems sincere, liberal, and he should be strong with working class voters.

K. Harris: Despite her opposition from some Bernie supporters, I think many would come around to vote for her against Trump. She would also likely excite higher turnout in Michigan and Wisconsin.

B. Sanders: I think he will run in '20. He, if you like him or not, represents a movement, much like Trump. His age, to many people, will not matter as long as he picks a good running mate, I believe. He would register a good deal of excitement with Millennials, who will be the biggest voting bloc by '20. I believe enough Democrats who do not like Sanders would vote for him when compared to Trump or Pence.

J. Biden: '16 would have been a better year for Biden. He looked good to a lot of people in comparison to Hillary, but he has too many flaws. He represents the party of the 90's moderate Democrats. I still Biden could easily win but with all of the accusations

K. Gillibrand: I am not sold on her. I do not like her quick changes on policies, shifting from Blue Dog to progressive. She would at least hold on to Hillary's states, and they would absolutely focus on Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. I think she would win at least one of those if not more.

T. Ryan: He would be a strong VP pick. I just do not see him catching fire for the top of the ticket. If he was the top of the ticket, I think he would win though. He would hopefully pick a strong running m ate to balance him out.

C. Booker: I do not like his approach. He seems too opportunistic. I do think, however, that he could spark a win. Bernie supporters really do not like him, and Bernie supporters are a sizable enough chunk to matter, it would not necessarily be fatal.

A. Klobuchar: Her "Minnesota Nice" approach will not win her the nomination. Democrats need a fighter. Maybe a VP pick, due to her gender and geography. I think she would win Wisconsin and Michigan and hold on to Hillary's states. She would be uninspiring, but she could be successful (like almost of these potential candidates) with the right balance with the running mate.

T. Baldwin: I know she has mediocre approval ratings, but I like that she opposed the Iraq War. She is from Wisconsin. Maybe I am being naive to think that her lesbianism would be a big factor. I do not think she will run. She could also be a strong VP.

E. Warren: Like Biden, 2016 was her year. She could have bridged the Clinton-Sanders divide. I am not sure if she would have won, but she would have been stronger in '16 then '20. I think she could be easy to pin as an elitist liberal, and I have mixed feelings about her prospects against Trump.

S. Moulton: Eh, he has a military  background, which should be important for the Democrats. From what I have heard from him, I do not see any path for him.

T. Gabbard: I respect that she is trying to be a maverick, but she has overplayed her risk-taking and has made too many enemies. Also, she is just a Representative.

A. Cuomo: No. He would be a perfect opponent, if you are a Trump supporter. He seems corrupt to many Democrats. He exudes "insider corrupt career politician," much like the image of Hillary Clinton.
