Well, now we know for a fact that Stewart doesn't want to win, but instead live off the wingnut welfare circuit after his loss.

Well after the CO GOP dragged Coffman to run against Tancredo. Who are they going to make run against Stewart.

After this election, Stewart will be the one getting lynched (figuratively).

If Stewart wins the GOP primary, he will be clobbered by Kaine.

He's probably done the same things as Moore.

Just imagine the race between this guy and Kaine. Even if this were a less-favorable year, all Kaine would have to do is play the same attack dog cards as he used against Pence. It'd be even easier: "My opponent supports pedophiles. Need I say Moore?"

Oh PLEASE, Corey, run! Hand Kaine a second term on a silver platter.

In all seriousness, if this guy wants to run for senate, what makes him think defending a child molester will help him in a state that rejected both Trump and Gillespie?

Kaine's margins in Loudoun and Prince William Counties against this hack will be the stuff dreams are made of.

Virginia Beach!
Chesterfield!

And let's go for 90 percent in Richmond proper for good measure. Cheesy

I think Stewart is trying to ensure Comstock and Taylor get clobbered

Could be, if so then I thank him for speeding up Virginia's pace towards a solid blue state!

In fact, I think a Stewart v. Kaine race could raise the Democrats' ceiling in the state.

I think Stewart could make it closer in Prince William, Kaine would probably win it only by 53-44. Otherwise, everywhere else I see Kaine doing better than Northam's race just a few days ago.

Kaine would stand a good chance of storming home with Warner-08 numbers.

Not to mention Fairfax, Arlington, and Alexandria.

Absolutely not. Stewart would lose PWC by more than Gillespie. The only reason he has won PWC as county chair is because of extremely low Democratic turnout in off-years.

And naw, no way he can get Warner 2008 numbers. The rurals are too far gone. But winning by double dogits is probable with continued curb-stomping erosion in the suburbs.

Kaine could run up massive margins in NOVA, Hampton Roads, the Virginia Beach area, and the Richmond metro area and win by a similar margin to Warner '08 while still getting blown out in Southwest Virginia.

And to that end, it's probably a good thing (from his perspective) that he is moving on anyhow. 2017 was a giant correction to the overly-Republican leanings of the House of Delegates, and all these counties where Republicans have taken advantage of a demoralized Obama coalition to win/hold county seats they probably shouldn't have otherwise are also due for their own corrections. PWC is a good example of that, where a 15 - 20+ Obama/Clinton county has a 6 - 2 Republican majority on the county supervisors board.

I'm just amazed given how Democratic meaning the county is. Admittedly Board of Supervisors is not the most part is in a position where his crazy-ass views would shine, and his elections of all been rather close. Did local residents not realize what a Wingnut this dude was before he ran for Governor this year? It looks like he was a real gay Basher for some time
