look, the key to Jones's campaign is to show he has extremely uncontroversial, which plays in the burbs.  Those pubs are trying to find a reason to vote republican, this is it. Also, even though this isn't huge, the race was already likely in Moore's favor. This can not help anything.

If this "changes their mind" on voting for Jones, they were never truly voting for him anyway.
true, but Moore needs write in->Moore votes badly

Which is why the race is and always was safe R.

You're deluding yourself if you think the average Alabaman reads PolitiFact.

Politifact's explanation to why it's false is so convoluted that most voters aren't going to even bother with reading it.

Hasn't Fox been avoiding Moore like the plague? They have better things to do, in any case, like trying to convince people Trump isn't a criminal.

An interesting wrench that could well tip the race: how do you think the first government shutdown with a trifecta for one-party would effect things?

Non-Issue....

Typical 'Bama or East 'Tex style dirty knife fight politics....

Jones owns the Air War, too late and too expensive for Moore to respond in kind.

The hardcore 265k Moore voters from the 'Pub Primary are going to vote for him regardless...

The battle is over the Non-Moore 'Pub voters and Indies, many of whom already believe the accusations are credible.

Facts don't necessarily matter as much in a 'Bama style knife fight as reinforcing preexisting images of the opponent among his most vulnerable segment of the electorate....

Honestly, probably a pretty damn good strategy on Jones part to hit this hard late in the game, while the "Crazy Uncle" tries to fact-check the younger members of his family on the content of this ad, there is already a baked in perception among White Female voters in the largest Metro areas in the State that these allegations are most likely correct.

I guarantee the Moore campaign or Fox won't be running around shouting the word 'sex' at all; especially when it's just a boring process story.

If a canidiate can be accused of sexual assault and still win, then a campaign will survive for taking liberties with a political ad.

Yeah I don't think Moore wants to talk about how he only voted in favour of a pedophile due to a technical legal point.

Sen. Luther Strange just gave his farewell speech. Very good speech which stressed compromise and bipartisanship.

What a bunch of bull from a guy who voted 100% party line.
That's like Roy Moore talking about children safety and then going to the mall to chase underage girls.

Speeches about bipartisanship by Republicans crack me up....they have never once believed in it since Gingrich took over. Bipartisanship, according to Republicans, means do what we tell you to

I'm glad Jones is at least putting up a fight and not rolling over with the usual moderate heroism.

Running as a "moderate hero" would be better in a state like Alabama, but otherwise I agree with you.

Not that it will change any Republican's mind, but DAMN! This guy is insane.

Wanted to share a video of Roy Moore in 1997 arguing that kids commit drive-by shooting because they are taught evolution in school: "They're acting like animals because we've taught them they come from animals."

That's what Democrats have done in the South since the Clinton years and look where that's gotten them. It might have worked in the 80s and 90s, but it doesn't work now: I think the most effective strategy would be to run as a modern version of a Huey Long-type Democrat, i.e. "I'm gonna make damn sure the Hedge Fund Managers on Wall Street pay their fair share of taxes so we can use that money for health care and education for our kids down here in Alabama".

Someone should ask him how many non-human animals have committed drive-by shootings.

Doug Jonnes is just a normal polling error away from a win.

Roy Moore is obviously mad at evolution because he has yet to evolve
