This feels pointless to say but can this event kill once and for all the talking point " both sides are to blame for this political climate". The GOP and RW America have gone f**king insane and their list for power knows no shame. The left has its issues but the right is single handily drove this countries image abroad into the ground and is the source of why politics is so toxic right now

In retrospect maybe Doug Jones was not the best candidate for this race, I can't help but think Sue Bell Cobb or Walt Maddox would be doing better.

You think wrong. The Democrats could have nominated Jesus Christ himself and the pedophile would still win.

I think the abortion issue was a huge mistake on Jones part, he was a rookie candidate and he gave Moore and the GOP something to exploit. Cobb and Maddox have won in AL and they wouldn't have made the same mistake, they know how to message on social issues.

Even if the nominee was Pro-life, the GOP base would still hate them for other reasons. Jones is as good a Democratic  candidate as any.

Alabama doesn't care about abortion. Alabama had more liberal abortion laws than 80% of other states before Roe V Wade.

Jones could of been anti abortion and it wouldn't of made any difference. The abortion issue is just used as an excuse to vote against Democrats

Until it sinks in with the Atlas rose-colored glasses posters that Jesus H. Christ (D) would lose to Satan in-the-flesh (R) in Alabama, y'all are gonna get irrationally angry at the world for things beyond your control

People desperately try to blame an external event because they just can't cope with the fact that their fellow countrymen will willingly elect a pussygrabber and a pedophile just because of tribal partisan loyalty, bigotry, hatred of minorities, and trolling the sane half of the country.

I have a feeling after Moore's win though we're going to have a lot more #woke posters, lol.

And Mississippi’s were even *more* liberal than Alabama’s

very easy to be a monday morning quarterback. Doug Jones ran when literally NO democrat had their mind set on running because Luther Strange was going to wipe out any Democrat running.

also lol what a god damn joke country we live in.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but Alabama is going to need a 3rd megathread in a single year.

Apparently it's not easy, considering his Monday morning quarterbacking was the equivalent of throwing a hail mary from the 1 yard line.

If Moore wins (as I think is likely), I'm blaming it on the Democrats not forcing Franken, Conyers, and Kihuen into immediate resignation. Alabungans can see these things just as well as we can, and they see no reason why things should be any different for Moore than it is for these democrats. Had those democrats been forced into immediate resignation, I feel that Moore's surge would never have occurred.

And Moore will not be expelled and he will be allowed to be in the Senate for however long he lives for and because Moore is a really evil POS he will probably live at least another 30 years and serve the last two terms in the Senate as a head in a jar.
