Saw a map somewhere of the PA Supreme Court election and Dems lost Lackawanna County and Erie County. That's pretty disheartening...

The path forward in PA might be running up the margins in the Philly suburbs.

Some Montana results:

Helena mayor

Wilmot J. Collins: 5,139 votes, 51.28%
James Smith (inc.): 4,801 votes, 47.90%

This was a big win for progressives. Collins will be the first black mayor of Helena and the first African American elected to a mayoral post in Montana.

Surprisingly not. It appears Helena, technically in its pre-incorporation days, had another black mayor in the 1870's!

Oops, what I intended to say was that he will be the first black mayor in Montana's history (since statehood), but of course you are absolutely right. E.T. Johnson was elected mayor 16 years before statehood.

Oh hell, it's not like I knew until I came across that article today.

But if you did, kudos and a half. That's PRIME political geekery there. Cheesy
