This article was excellent for showing how traumatic sexual assault is. He's thankful nothing "worse" happened, and yet this has been causing him such distress for over 30 years. I hope that this story isn't buried by Spacey's "coming out," and I hope that the "but I was drunk" excuse doesn't become too much of the narrative.

What he's doing here by coming out is creating a distraction—trying to make the headlines in this story about something else. This is an extraordinarily selfish move, because he revives the old homophobic trope of gays preying on children, and conflates sexuality with sexual assault.
